HERE IS HOW I WOULD RANK THE TOP FRANCHISES

NOT IN TERMS OF WINS/LOSSES ENTIRELY, BUT HOW THEY ARE RUN, AND THEIR CHANCES OF FUTURE SUCCESS:

1.) Santiago Benitos - I'm not sure if it was by luck or by chance, but Havoc decision to go to SA Pro was genius. He's had a strong lead in terms of levels and tactics since he arrived and has a dedicated group of truly friends there. They really get along well. No one is leaving. Playing in a weaker league has also led to many home playoff games which has led to a fat bankroll. I don't recall if they made many upgrades early on, but they are now upgrading at any position they can to keep up with the levels of some of the teams outside of SA Pro

2.) West Scranton Invaders - nearly the same exact formula that the Benitos followed, except I would say they have a little more competition from their league and believe in more depth than any other team in GLB. Nautilus is nicest owner in GLB. Hands down. Tenacious recruiter as well and they do it in silence instead of making a fuss on the boards.

3.) Halifax Explosion - this team is led by Gart who's personality and band (band imo) has endeared him to all of CPL. He is currently expanding that image in the last season or so to all of GLB. The fact that he gets along with everyone helps recruiting and he also generally follows the "keep upgrading" philosophy as he normally has all the gutted teams in CPL to pick players off. He is also one of the best recruiters in the game and knows his dots very well too. Since he gets along well with others, he was able to bring in some of the best help in the game too.

4.) Monmouth Evil Monkeys - coachviking is the best recruiter in the game. I'll give him that title. He's earned it. He puts more time into recruiting and upgrading than any other owner to the point where all of his past contact has led him to not need to recruit any more. His laid back "have a beer and some hookers" joking style has proven to work much better than some of the more anal/serious recruiters. Also has many active agents who post alot and used the draw of an active forum to help his recruiting.

5.) Adriana Lima Beans - SI was one of the first to decide to be HYPERactive in the trade and FA forums to improve the team. SI also specifically targeted active posters and used the "most active forum in GLB" claim to land many top prospects in the past. While no longer the most active forums any longer, they are without alot of the drama of the past and are still very active. Certainly not near the top in terms of trophies either (0), but this team is certainly near the top in terms of bring excitement to the game. Love the Beans or hate them, people are passionate about this team one way or the other. SI's calculating of every SP and clear direction of the team had led to some battles with all the ACTIVE, intelligent players he brought it. This and SI's cocky/arrogant persona has led to an image problem for the owner and team at times for sure though. Word is that he is a nice guy once you get to know him though.

6.) Marblehead Longhorns - much like the Beans in terms of the way they have been upgrading like crazy from early on and doing a great job in recruiting. the similarities end there though. texaninma takes a more much quiet role in recruiting , but is also certainly one of the best. This team has also had success at every level and took a different route to the top than teams like the Beans (who were moved to the top) or Halifax (who started at the top of CPL). texaninma is well regarded and has one of the largest GM rings with other successful teams and owners. One of the best websites as well.

7.) Honolulu Hurricane Warriors - similar model as the Wolfpack and probably the better team right now. Excellent job of bringing in Harper's players and MiniHusk, etc. Does this team have the recruiters and activity level needed to keep up with the game? I'm not sure. They are very quiet and stealthy. Could easily be the #1 team when the decline starts.

8.) Dryden Blues - instead of a team dominated by the owner's players, this high level team is led by an army of players by a few high level influential players who recruit well and can always bring their own players back home if needed. Also has interesting rules about not replacing players which leads to some bad builds hanging around than I would like, but they find a way to win despite hundcuffing themselves like that. As long as Asheme backs Dryden, it should have no problems fielding a top team.

9.) GB Maulers - another super owner team. Between PP, tricon, and sledge.....this team owns the highest % of top players of any team. They aren't elite leveled like other teams, but again, this is a likely choice to be a top 3 team at worst when the decline starts. PP is aggressive in trades and improving his team. Team on the rise.

10.) *** Official *** Football Guys - steadily moving up the charts. TheDuffman is right up there with Havoc and some others in terms of game strategy. Duff has a bunch of well built players himself and some longtime loyal agents who have their own armies. This team is going to be a power for many seasons. I never see OFG in the recruiting threads, so that probably means he takes the silent DDL/Dryden "PM only" route for the most part. Maybe referrals from within. Not exactly sure, but I do know that they are very good and getting better.

11.) Krazy Monkeys - combination of the initial activity levels of Cobra Kai combined with the deep owner player list of the Wolfpack. Certainly has enough to be in the conference championship game every season without improving, but do they have enough intestinal fortitude to keep coming back? The close loss this season in the finals should motivate this team to step it up a little.

12.) Bandar Pirates - just looks like a fun team. They always do a good job in recruiting. Boomer played here and says this is a good team. That is all that matters.

13.) Porto Alegre Smugglers - fun looking team, a few POWER players in the game back them and their owner is really nice. They look to be a power for some time.

14.) Drinkin - gained his fame from radio program and being super active in CPL as opposed to being an attention whore like SI. The only obstacle to the team's success is now out of the way with the demise of the Hobos. Should be battling the Sucka Frees for CPL West crowns for many seasons.

15, Washington Wolfpack - I said long ago that this game was headed to the super owner who had many many of his own players on the team. The Wolfpack is near the class of that model of team and the Wolfpack has been adding to that base in recent seasons. Well liked owner, spiffy avatars, and an active team. This type of team model might begin to take over the game when the decline starts or they would probably be higher. A couple of playoff losses aren't going to hold this team back if Painmaker keeps shelling out the $$ to boost because those slow builds are only going to get better and there are soldiers right behind them ready to fall into place. *SI needs to look into this team further*

16.) San Francisco Sucka Frees - hex is on his game in terms of recruiting, in game strategy, and team catch phrases. Very good builds all around and poised for success. One of the all-round top teams in the game.

17.) Windsor (Detroit) Cheetahs - Capone isn't particularly well liked either, but the dude has Jrry, Flames, DD, and some other connections in this game. Team looks in great shape for the future.

18.) Mean Machine - I'm a little unsure of this pick. They burst out of nowhere to land a couple of top recruits 2 seasons back and merged them with a team strategy of anti- SA's and high blocking for their O-line (as best I can tell). Even though they were under leveled, it worked for them. I'm not sure what has happened the last couple seasons, but it seems that the levels are catching up to them? I'm not sure. Regardless, it seems it is a very well run team and they know what they are doing in builds and strategy. I'm not sure about recruiting though lately. Looks like a fun team to play for.

19.) Detroit Demon Lions - This team was clearly the innovator for a few ideas that few other teams did at the time, that have now become standard - like valuing level above most other things and using the search feature to go down the list of the highest level players and PM them. Or selling intangible things like build information for in game cash, loaning money to other teams for profit, or borrowing money from teams to finish their stadium. With the "level above all" plan, TSE was able to change over time the builds of guys with more points. This is still a work in progress. If Bort and the testers decide that SA's aren't working like they were supposed to and make them all work, this could quickly become the best team in the game (again). Like the Adriana Lima Beans, DDL has an image problem that it needs to turn around if it ever wants to reach the top levels and keep attracting top talent like they have.

20.) Cobra Kai - Were the first clear BRAND in GLB that was known outside of their league. They decided to go for any kind of publicity and it worked. They decided to be a very active team and it helped them with recruiting and having a strong team early on. The problem was that at some point, I think they decided to stick with what they had while everyone else around them was improving. That decision has led to their downfall in recent seasons. The brand name is still there, but in danger of vanishing or being associated with a losing team.

I'm still deciding on the order and what other 2 teams to add. Maybe 'Nites? SGA? Mayans? Tire Fires? Monarchs? Pimps? Trout? Brisbane Heat? Legionnaires? Pa Dong? Emmaus Green Hornets? Lots of well known and well run teams out there. Whatever number I pick, I'm sure people are going to be upset. I'm quite used to it by now though. I can handle the insults.

I'd say Wolfpack for one of the spots, they're pretty well known for their build strategy. As for another, I'd probably say the Banzai Nites from O-Pro Zeta -- they've dominated that division for awhile, and only just got knocked off this season after a 3 or 4 season streak of winning zeta.

And why are Kai on there? Can't be a top 10 franchise without wins, or even making it to the pro conference finals.

Dryden should be number one in every list, of course.

ALB top 5 run franchise out there? Thats rich...

MEM and one of Santiago and WSI will be the only ones left after the next couple seasons to be honest in that tier....A new era will bring different top tier teams...the slowbuild era....only the best recruiters and the best slowbuild teams will survive. Kai will probably fold into one of their other slowbuilding franchises...

you may be right.

I think Krazy Monkeys, GB Maulers, Washington Wolfpack, and Hurricane Warriors all followed the same model to success (many owner owned players, low SA's, very deep teams). I'm not sure which 1 or 2 of those teams to single out. I think Painmaker and his public help in the early season stands out to me a little above the others.

If those teams played right now, I think the Hurricane Warriors would end up on top and have been recruiting best of the group in the last season or 2.

Hmmm. Hard for me to pick among these 4 that I would put in the same category.

If you had a choice to play for one of these 4 teams, who would it be? Tough call.

Get rid of DDL and Kai. They haven't won anything.

I would easily throw a franchise like Cincinnati Shockers over ALB as well...

I joined San Francisco Sucka Free back in season 2 when it was gutted, and worked its way back up from a relegation into AA up to the CPL. They are a lot better then the 2-14 team I first signed up for.
