Just wondering what people thought of this.

"This player has a nose for tipped passes. Each level of Ball Hawk gives a +1% bonus to speed, agility, jumping, and catching from the moment a pass has been deflected until it is caught or dropped. Applies on both defense and offense."

Has anyone seen their CB deflect a pass, then intercept it? Is it something that happens, but doesn't get logged as a PD because of the final result? Do you think on the plays where you deflect it, yet the WR catches it anyway make this a very viable VA?

I strongly believe this to be the case at times.

Dont really like this VA. You still have to get the PD for it to activate

oh and to answer question I think it does happens.

its great if u get lots of pd's, but its risky, because it doesnt help the cb get in position to get the pd in any way

This is a pretty damn good VA...for a wide receiver.

Well, I'm going to be guinea pig on this one. I've decided to put 10 points in it and see how it goes.

I'll update the experiment as the season goes on.

Man , i hope Bort does another reset next season if this goes horribly wrong....

If this were real football I would expect that VA to only truly have an effect benefitting a CB once or twice in a season. It seems the situation has to be absolutely perfect for it to actually help you on defense. It seems it would be much better for WRs.

what about for a FS though... if he's playing zone and the CB or WR tips the ball... would this VA make sense then?

I like it for FS, it doesn't specify distance to tip...So I would think that not only will it give a little extra toward possibly coming down with the deflection, but it should act like Closing Speed with an AGI speed bonus for that extra bit of adjustment toward the play in the few ticks the deflection is taking place for.

Well, thanks to kickers, I'm not totally fucked for the season. Thanks Bort.

I'll still leave the 10 in their for at least a few games to see if it works to my advantage. Keep you updated.

This is a perfect example of how the Ballhawk VA could work:

ball hawk is too situational to be high on the list. i can think of 4 or 5 VAs i'd take over it.
