Next season (season 8) I will be getting a team and in conjunction with the Appalachian Mountaineers (http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1389) we will be using the team as a minor league team of sorts.
We have started to take a look ahead to season 10 and beyond when first year players will start to feel the effects of dimishing skills. A good deal of Appalachian's players are committed to the team long term and this gives them a place to build future players to step in when their older players begin to head to retirement.
The Mountaineers have a tradition of winning and our goal is to make the playoffs each season and do the best we can to win Championships. The key to longstanding success is to have plans in place to ensure it continues.
Free agency while a great tool can't always produce each need a team has, there will almost always be a better team out there a player will choose over you even if you offer the most money (Monmouth Evil Monkeys? lol) so our plan is to give a place for players to grow and eventually step into a deep winning tradition.
