If he isn't blitzed I'm going to assume the MLB covers the HB. Does one of the CB's cover the TE? I know if I ran a 3-1-7 C1 the SS would cover the TE. If I run 3-1-7 C2 will I'm wondering which DB's match up on which receivers.
My hope is that 3-1-7 C2 with no blitz would yield this:
RDE/NT/LDE - Pass Rush
MLB - Man coverage HB
SS/FS - C2 Zone
CB1 - WR1
CB2 - WR2
CB3 - WR3
CB4 - TE
CB5 - WR1
My fear is that I'd get this:
RDE/NT/LDE - Pass Rush
MLB - Man coverage TE
SS/FS - C2 Zone
CB1 - WR1
CB2 - WR2
CB3 - WR3
CB4 - WR1
CB5 - WR2
and the HB would be uncovered
I'm trying to double-cover the TE and figure that I'm not getting enough pass rush so just cover the heck out of the receivers. I'm guessing my best bet may be 3-2-6. I know from that I can put the LOLB on the TE, the MLB on the HB, and either double-team the TE with the SS by playing C1 or keep him back to cut off most TE routes by playing C2.
