Seems in real life that's a given... I'm just wondering how much confidence seems to affect a player at this position, if at all.

i'm a WR 41 with 40 confidence, and no drops this season (73rec), but the team has been released at the mid-season.

but i think you need more than 50 in catching, to be efective

Confidence is like the dill sprinkled on a caviar toast point. Dill doesn't stand alone on its own like the caviar, toast point, creme fraiche or salmon, but when combined with the others it makes the dish much better. (I've grown tired of the cherry on a sunday analogies). It doesn't matter how much confidence you have if you don't have your other abilities at a high enough level to compete. For example, having all the confidence in the world and low speed won't make you faster, but at least you won't get discouraged when you get beat to the ball every play.

It may also counteract the CB VA of Showboat, which decreases a WR's in-game morale by 3% per level for every deflected pass. My training "goals" are to hit skill level 40 in jumping, carrying and confidence, through a mixture of intense training.

I'm 44 with 48 confidence, and no drops this season either. (87 rec).

I saw a great jump in my production a few seasons back when I first got my confidence over 35. I preach that confidence is a very under appreciated stat to my team.

What Mob-6 said was correct, if you can decode it correctly and figure out what he's saying. You need to get other stats up too and it's not going to carry you to success, but I think it can greatly effect your numbers. I see many low confidence receivers dropping passes more and more every year.
