I've been reading about who's the best TE....Joe O'Rourke has been making alot of noise about raping everyone. Alex icnognito has been making some noise

both are having great seasons..

Alex Incognito
88 rec 1570 yrds 29 td's 5 drops 64 plays/gm 57 pancakes 590 rushing plays 395 passing

Joe O'Rourke
49 rec 1569 yrds 28 td's 4 drops 66.5 plays/gm 70 pancakes 466 rushing plays 494 passing plays

But i got to represent my TE Inspectah Deck
who last year set a GLB record (from what i can tell)
being the first TE with at least
100 rec 1,500 yrds 25tds 100 pancakes

this year he's at
95 rec 1847 yrds 29td's 2 drops 48 plays/game 47 pancakes 250 rushing plays 667 passing plays

while his pancakes are down....the assassins barely ever run....so 44 is good....he also shares the ball
the asassins will have 5 recievers with 50+ ctaches 1,000 + yards and 15+ td's

i'm just saying

Antonio Gates #1, Tony Gonzalez #2, Jason Witten #3, Chris Cooley #4, Kellen Winslow #5. I would have Kellen Winslow rated higher than Cooley, but he had a horrible season last year. Everyone probably has their own opinions though. The 3 guys you are talking about I have never heard of.

As an impartial bystander, I'd like to point out a different way of looking at this. Instead of the entire season where each team has been playing against a mishmash of weak competition with the occasional tough game peppered in, I thought I'd look at the stats of the 3 TEs in their 3 Toughest games. The stats are below:

Alex Incognito
Games - Jax Beach, Lincoln, Lexington
23 rec, 363 yds, 3 TDs, 0 Pancakes, 80 Plays/game

Inspectah Deck
Games - Big Money, Inya, Oregon
26 rec 287.5 yds, 5 TDs, 1 Pancakes, 41.3 Plays/game

Joe O'Rourke
Jax Beach, Lincoln, Richmond
12 rec, 334.5 yds, 5 TDs, 1 Drop, 0 Pancakes, 63 Plays/game

Each player has their own quality attributes. Incognito leads in yards, Inspectah leads in receptions (and pancakes), Joe leads in yards per catch. I can safely say that we can remove pancakes from the equation as none of the TEs are getting a notable number of pancakes against decent competition. To me that leaves receptions, yards, TDs, and plays per game. Factor in quality of competition, and I think you have a decent argument for any of them.

Alex has played the toughest schedule with three QUALITY opponents. He has a ton of receptions, and a ton of yards. It's clear that he is used in the medium-style passing game, and he plays ALOT.

Inspectah has played the weakest schedule, but he basically sports the same stats as Alex in half of the plays. He's also a medium-style receiver, and makes a strong case for making the most of his playing time. Both Alex and Inspectah will have played Lexington by the end of the season. It will be interesting to see how the two compare once they have a common opponent.

Joe's schedule is in the middle. He has only a few receptions, but man does he rack up yards. Alamo City clearly likes to use him in the vertical passing game, and he makes opposing defenses pay. He is also in the middle for playing time. He will sport the toughest schedule in two games once Alamo City plays Houston. I'm curious to see how much his stats will change after that game (if at all). In the head-to-head comparison Joe has 9 receptions, 177.5 yards, 2 TD against Lincoln and Jax Beach. Incognito has 18 rec, 258.5, 1 TD against Lincoln and Jax Beach. VERY similar stats.

For the most part, I think that Inspectahs significantly reduced playing time makes up for the quality of competition he has played to this point. It seems to me that if he can pull off similar stats against Lexington, then he's probably had the better year. If his stats drop significantly against a the Lynx, then I think you have to lean towards Joe or Alex. These two players are basically in a dead heat against similar competition. If Joe puts up reasonable stats against Houston, I think he's earned it.

There you have it. Analysis from the "expert". Now you may expounge upon my inaccuracies, and make me look like a fool.

******NOTE******

Just because I have labeled some of the teams above as "quality" teams it doesn't mean I think everyone else is horrible. There are many more good teams. I picked the games that gave the teams above the most trouble in terms of margin of victory (or loss). No other comparison was used. You could re-analyze their stats in many different ways. If you'd like to do so, then I'd like to read it. This was just one way to look at it.

Peace out!

and before any beef gets started.. our gameplan does not have any focus whatsoever on giving joe catches..

if joe is open.. we shall throw to him..

if he's covered.. we'll throw to someone else..

case closed

another thing to take into account is how much Alex sits on the bench in the second half of our games. Imagine if he played ALL the TIME

That was a great write-up. Of course this is going to sound bad since I am Joe's owner, but for me the Yards Per Catch and Yards After Catch speak volumes. Joe averages 33 YPC, and 19 YAC, compared to Alex's 19.4 YPC and 9.5 YAC, and Inspectah's 18.2 YPC and 8.3 YAC.

But I really don't like myself, Alex, or Inspectah commenting too much because what is the point, we are obviously biased.
