I'm slowbuilding a cornerback at the minute (see my profile--the build is open), but I'm not sure when to stop pumping points into speed.

I don't mind the unbalanced build because I'm on a dedicated slowbuild team, and I'm trying to hit around 100 (with equipment), but I realize that's not going to help me much without agility and vision.

I've got speed to the 5:1 cap--would it be better to softcap agility or maximize the full slowbuild advantage by giving myself more time training agility while I bring speed up one more cap?

I'm leaning toward improving agility at the moment, but I've never owned high-level CB, and I'm interested to see what others think.

yes Corners NEED agility. with custom and all the equipment by level 32 you need about 74 speed to have 100. You could get your speed to about 70 and let the natural level bonus' finish it off.

I would personally not put another point (including EQ) into SPD for that guy's career, unless it becomes apparent that it's necessary. Which it shouldn't.

Cap agility.

I don't think that agility is unnecessary--I'm just slowbuilding and I want to get the max training time on agility without sacrificing leveling points.

What have you been training while pumping speed?

Agility/vision on intense.

go on to getting agility to 68. agility is almost as important as important as speed.

I would also move one of your pieces of equipment onto agility.

Well I guess it depends on how soon you want to hit 100, and exactly how much EQ you want to use.

3 pieces of basic L40 speed gear gets you +15 Speed. Custom is +6 more. Then AEQ is a bit of a toss up maybe we can assume +4 more? So that's +25 there, so 75 Natural is fine at L40.

go back to L32 and you lose only lose +4 or so, so you'd need an 80 natural by L32.

So then you just have to do the math.

48 speed at L4 gets you to about 58 by about L30... not even close.

60 cap at L8 gets you about 70... probably not enough

68 cap gets you about 78... is probably good enough

If you did do the 73 cap already, and you only want low 100+ you will probably be using later gear to cover any shortcomings you have in your build. Or you can just try to set new Land Speed records on foot.

If you don't have agility tho, without that acceleration boost, you're probably going to need about 75 yards to get up to top speed, so those points are pretty much wasted. (IMHO of course )

edit: and all of that doesn't include the +10/15% from Vet Abilities so 60 cap is probably enough to get into the 100s in the mid 30s.

I'm working on softcapping agility at the minute, because w/equipment and levelling bonuses I should be able to get to 100 without any more speed points.

I'm thinking of continuing to train vision for awhile while I pump points into agility to get it to around the second cap--I don't need to actually have a somewhat effective build until at least next season, so I'm not too worried about my current status as a sprinter with no ball skills or agility whatsoever.

I am pretty happy with my speed. 94 speed, 71 Agility and Almost 60 Vision. I lock my side of the field down really well as starting 1CB

Save your points up and keep training Vision and Agility. Once you hit 35ish with them, then start pumping points into agility. That's when you should switch over to Jumping and catching on intense. Get Agility to 68. After that work on Getting vision to 60.
