He is a receving TE with 5 training points and 63 skill points to use. I just need to know how I should go about building him now. Thanks.

I'd start again - if he is a receiving TE you should have capped speed and agility a while ago to get the level up bonuses.

Since your'e close anyway, I would suggest taking catching to the second cap. I would have trained vision to cap it next, but since you've gotten speed to 25+ already, go ahead and cap that and then I would suggest going back to vision.

I would never cap speed or agility first for any TE. You're always going to get much more from natural leveling bonuses out of catching, vision, strength, and blocking (.5 vs. . 167 for the first 21 levels...).

I didn't say cap speed or agility first - he capped catching, which is fine. If he is a receiving TE, blocking is useless and strength and vision are negligible enough that capping speed and agility 2nd and 3rd is a no brainer.

Vision negligible for a receiver?
That's hilarious. /sarcasm

Even so, I wonder if putting vision first would be effective enough. Has anybody tried it?

I haven't seen much evidence that vision matters for receivers, and certainly not nearly as much as speed and agility

Vision doesn't effect receivers at the moment, but once this off-season hits, Bort is putting in a vision check for badly thrown balls. We will need vision very soon.

I did vision third for my TE just because it's a major attribute. It's actually the only reason I was able to catch any passes last season - I have a pure blocking TE, that had 25 catching at the time. Hauled in almost everything thrown to me. Would have to say that anyone who neglects vision is really missing out, most likely because they're the kind of person who'd third cap speed and second cap agility and think "I'M THE FASTEST FUCKING TE ON THE PLANET AND I DON'T NEED ANY GODDAMN VISION" while their horribly mediocre build gets PD'd every play on 3rd down.

Current long-term project focus (season end)
- Defensive play creator
- Full download replay option

Major off-season sim updates (season end)
- New more accurate method of calculating receiver lead distance, with output accuracy weighted by QB vision checks
- Balance coverage delay times up/down to go with above lead distance update
- Require receiver vision check to react quickly to bad throws
- Add "super elusive" running style option which will allow the player to force the HB to recalculate his route every tick and reduce "keep moving forward" vector weight, for more side to side and bounce it outside type stuff on very high agility guys

I would cap catching first and never touch it again. I think its a huge waste to dump 2 for 1 points into catching until speed and agil are at least soft capped.

yeah, its a major skill but it is not nearly as important as speed and agil imo. just get open and make it happen after the catch, you don;t need crazy catching to bring the vast majority down.
