I consider myself a very successful owner. But I am burned out on defensive AI. As anyone tried using just the basic defensive settings recently?

I remember it used to do some crazy some before the advanced AI options came along. It is just not fun for me anymore trying to set up this complex of a defense.

it doesnt have to be that complex

- have a base defense for each formation
- have a base defense for each formation in long yardage
- have a base defense for each formation medium yardage
- have a base defense for each formation short yardage

I will simplify that even more if you want.

-have a base defense for 2wr long, medium, short
-have a base defense for 3wr long, medium, short

This will at least keep your defense from being in a 4-2-5 on 3rd and short against the strong I and other such plays. I still let the computer call a lot of the blitzes, shifts, and coverages and have done fine.

It's simple once you get it set up. Then you just tweak per opponent.

Thanks but I have all of those already. But there is so much tweaking and testing of new ideas that is killer. Sometimes I just want to say screw it and go with the basic.

Wait until next season where you can design defensive plays, then it will get really complex.
