I'm just curious why the FS didn't cover the TE.

My defense was playing 4-2-5, Cover 3, man to man coverage with medium coverage distance, LB is no shift and blitzing the LOLB/CB3/MLB

Even though the TE went left out of the FS area, the FS should have covered the TE because I was using a man to man coverage. I would understand why the FS didn't leave his area if I had the coverage as zone.

Cover 3 means, CB1, 2 and FS are in 3 deep cover zones.

Like above poster said, the FS will only cover someone who goes into his zone, which is basically 1/3rd of the field in a cover 3....but the zone is set back....

If you want someone to man-up on the TE you'll -not- want to use a cover 3, 4-2-5 most likely.

you can run that coverage if you don't blitz the LOLB. He will cover the TE

If you still want 3 in, you can blitz the FS. Its risky, but so is that jail break you are running.
