I thought I'd share some of my insight into how to hopefully build a good CB.
I understand many of you will be familiar with this/nothing groundbreaking here but it may be useful to those just starting building DBs or on GLB.

After reading this thread a couple of things became far more apparent.
1. There are 2 different "areas" for CBs to target.
2. Very few CBs target the second area (increasingly more are)
By this I mean that the vast majority of CBs have very high Speed, Agility which is usually followed by vision. This is useful to "diagnose" the play and then to be able to cover at get to the WR- shutting him down is the main goal of the CB. Once you have entered the "defensive radius" of the WR and the QB throws the pass, as far as I can see, the 3 main attributes now matter very little.
Bort says that the ability to deflect/intercept once close to the WR is governed by the Jumping, Catching and possibly Strength stats.
You can see that if you build a good enough Speed Agility and Vision based CB, the QB should never throw the pass in the first place meaning you really are shutdown. If you "neglect" Speed and Agility you can allow the room for the QB to make the pass, but provided you can get close enough to the WR to trigger the deflection stage, you should have a massive advantage if your CB is built with exceeding jumping ability.
I therefore come to the conclusion that the optimum CB would have just enough speed and agility to cover the WR, ie not get burnt whilst having a very high Jump.
I know a lot of this is pretty obvious but it does seem to me that jumping especially is underrated and I would suggest even second softcapping it to make sure you can get the advantage over the WR. I mean there is nothing worse than marking the WR perfectly, only for the pass to be complete due to the lack of physical coverage.
