I know its easier to plan a game plan for defence as you can use the scripts and stuff but how do you scout for offence thanks

I know what my strengths are, then scout the opponent to know where I can take advantage of my strengths.

Watch your opponents defensive pbp. See how they respond to different formations based on down and distance. Look for weaknesses that you can exploit.

Things I look for when im OC'ing a Game.
As I watch previous games where the other team is close to my lvl (no use watching a gutted team play them). I look to see how much Cover 0,1,2, they use. Next I look at their Blitzing, how many besides their Dline do they send after my QB, 0,1,2, or even a mix. Next I look at how far their Corners line up from the line of scrimmage...this lets me know if they are playing for short, medium or long passes. And finally back on the LB's I look at wether they shift alot or not (slide them from side to side). I do all this while noting what formation the other teams offense is in. That way you are kinda reverse engineering their D playbook. If i see a trend, then I know what to expect from their D for that formation. If I see that in a "single Back" formation, that they always shift their LB's to the weak side to help out against the WR Screen. Then I will use the Single back formation for maybe a sweep to the strong side (away from their shifted LB's), or a HB pass, or TE pass to the Strong side. Also if they only have 1 good CB, then go after their weaker CB...you can depth chart change that, at about 1 hour before game time, then it gets locked.

ok thanks for the answer but im still confused as i havent got a clue about anything on D lol sorry
but let me try and get what your saying from what i think i know...
When your looking for the blitz.. you read it by who comes close to the line of scrimmige.. i.e LB or saftie or in a CB blitz how much infield he is in relation to the LOS..
And for cover 0,1,2... is that how many they sent deep expecting a pass?
sorry to be a pain i just want to learn lol..

and im guessing you will need to set the AI for this?

A google search for defensive plays will turn a lot of good results on the various schemes and strengths/weaknesses. Even wkipedia does a good job.
