The team I'm playing next runs a lot of these, mostly out of the I-Form, but they do pass to the HB out of single back and Pro Set forms as well.

It's a big part of our next opponents offense and any help\advice on stopping the passes to the HB would be appreciated.

I'd talk to your LBs and see what you all could work out.

Why don't you use zone then? The DE would go cover the HB...

never tested, but theoretically looks nice

DE contain works. Careful though, it's awful against runs up the middle. If a team is extremely obvious about how they have the screen set up though, you can stop it.

Yeah, I figured the DE Contain would work pretty well against, but am hesitant to try that for exactly the reason you stated.

I was thinking that a Drop Zone would work since the play calls for the LE and LOLB to shift to that side, but I figure that would also be weak against the run.

Maybe if you put your LB to the string side, that might bring into the backfield and stop the screen.

Too bad you can't combine DE contain with blitzing 2-3 lbs or a ss.

That's next season when BORT reveals his D Play Builder.

I have the nearly the same issue in a game coming up. They like the HB screen out of the Single Back/3-wide, but they run up the middle. I have a scheme in place, but can't reveal until after the game goes off [5 PM CST].

I will post the results, though.

I would love to see individual match-ups with it, i.e. wherever WR "CB Killer" lines up, CB "WR Killer" lines up.

Due to the ass kicking, no results are available.

Don't really think that has to do with plays as such...more like deeper defensive settings.

In real football screens and draws are designed to take the pressure off the QB from a blitz heavy defense. Ie been contomplating this myself and think that a 4-3 cover 1 man under with run fucus and the LBs shifted to the strong side would contain that play. Another thing that helps is scoutin in order to know when the opposition going to run that play. Lets say you see a pattern of them running that play alot in the red zone and on third downs. What you would want to do is adust your input to defend the I on third and between 0-5 yards. And dont blitz in this prticular situation. Lets say they run screens on 30% of their 3rd and 0-5.You make an output with a 30% chance to run your 4-3/Run/no blitz/Strong side shift. This also will keep your hide cvered if they decide to run a HB ISO or a HB read to the Right side.
