What is better for a power running back strength or carrying? Before everyone starts telling me strength think about it.. My friend has a power rusher around lvl 18 and breaks way more tackles than any rusher I seen around his level and has a lot higher carrying skill. The carrying skill seams way better because it not only helps you break tackles but also keeps you from fumbling the ball. The strength skill only helps break tackles but most defenders have high strength as well so wouldn't they even more out? This game gets boring with every player putting points into speed, agi, and strength...

Strength. Carrying doesnt do enough to break tackles or avoid fumbles.
There are other attributes to consider as well, such as Confidence...

Strength still plays some in Holding onto the ball. But strength > carrying for breaking tackles. Carrying > Strength for not fumbling.

Carrying does help break tackles, but STR is far more important to breaking tackles.
If it's costing 4-1 to put points into STR, and 1-1 for carry, id choose carry.

I honestly haven't seem any hard proof that carrying provides significant gains in fumble reduction.
The largest factors are the offensive line and the opposition. Confidence is also huge.

Confidence determines if you fumble the ball, are you more likely going to keep fumbling the ball. It keeps you from doing worse if you are already playing bad. If confidence is high then you will likely play better and in case you do fumble most likely it's not going to happen again. I disagree that carrying does not effect breaking tackles.. As long as your strength is not to low then carrying will help you break a ton of tackles. In my opinion carrying is very under rated but it must be combined with decent strength.

Not entirely true. There are a LOT of things that effect confidence. Anything from fumbling, being tackled, tackled for a loss, the quarterback getting sacked, not to mention linebacker SA's that demoralize the player. These are happening every play and your HB is subject to them.
If you rush enough and get hit by a SA heavy LB, your morale will drop and you will fumble the ball. Having high confidence allows your player to perform to full potential when you're not playing a cupcake gutted team.
Carrying is overrated. Go ask the numerous individuals with soft cap or higher carry and strength that still have fumbling issues. It's not the complete answer. There are a number of factors that contribute to fumbling, and you can only minimize them by building a well rounded player and joining a team with a well built OL.

My HB isn't that successful. Well I guess he is to an extent, considering he has been playing level 40+ defenses for a few seasons now and still has a decent YPC. (Stats are hella inflated for this season because of a CPU team we just played. Should be more like 3.6 ypc or so. Actually been trying to think of ways to get him to break more tackles. Has great strength, not very high carrying, fairly high natural speed and working on further raising agility atm.

I've seen no evidence of that.
