are there any good balanced DE's out there? if u think u qualify post the link to ur player and discuss

i've been balanced my whole career and every team that has gone through SA AA#1 Zeta knows all about me, but i've seen times where STR DE's dominated, then SPD DE's, then AGI DE's. is it time for us balanced guys yet?

while i see the changes continue to be made...they seem to change only what 'focus' a DE has to have to be successful and/or dominate

if you want a DE to take the hit and be a team player who wont excel at anything while being a solid player for the team thats cool....if you want a DE to excel at anything , being "balanced" is not what you want.

perhaps some of the more balanced players have a different view

not balanced but i have str, agi, and speed all at least 1st capped. vision is 42 and all my minors except blocking above 25 (blocking is 21).
not perfectly balanced but having good supporting skills help

Here's mine approx

70 STR
80 SPD
80 AGI

(w/o lvl 32 or lvl 40 equip)
not to mention i have 10 in both quick and track star

each year my stats have improved, rather than varying by year to year like those who go off the fad builds (STR>SPD>AGI)

to me its seems the most logical thing to do is be balanced, so ur a consistent player rather than someone like Deebo who is outdated. Bort makes changes every season so it makes the most sense to go with what makes sense, rather than whats the best way currently to beat the system

I'm pretty sure Tautology has a balanced DE he's been preaching his high str DE's for a while and how much they help out in the run game. If you check out his DE's this year they haven't done all that great as far as sacks go. My DE is actually doing alright this year. He got a sack vs a lvl 44 in a tight game. Who knows though the lvl 44 might have had a bad build.

The best ROT Irish has faced this year has been a level 37, his DE is a level 42. He looks pretty darn quick on the replays though I will say that.

yea i truly wasn't trying to brag about my stats this year at all, in fact my first game when i got 8 sacks against a lvl 37 i'm pretty sure had a shit build. i was just trying to say it hasn't been highs and lows (say a 100+ sack season, followed by a 10 sack season)

i played in a league with tautology for one year (that all he needed before he moved up) and i can vouch that that guy knows what he's talking about, i'd trust his advise of many of the other guys out here preaching

I have a couple balanced DEs, and they have gotten a little pressure, but nothing to write home about.

This is the guy with the most statistical success:

But his sacks haven't been too impressive frankly.

His run defense has been decent. I swith him around between bullrush, combo and elusive, and I switch his gear between strength and agility and splitting the difference, but nothing really seems to click...perhaps I will try a little speed...

yeah, the best DEs I see, the ones who can consistently give pressure and disrupt plays every game, are the balanced ones. If you are all of one type, you'll excel one day but not another. Sometimes, the LOT your up against is better to stop an agility and sometimes, he's better at stopping a speed.

Also, have to worry about the backs and TEs. You want to be one dimensional, you have to come to terms to the fact that some games you'll hit a homerun and some games, you'll strike out.

Also, consider this, a TFL is just as good as a sack. Both are tackles behind the line of scrimmage.

It depends on what your role is too. My guy's pretty balanced but that's because he's also the team's backup ROLB and needs to at least be decentish dropping back into coverage.
