Is it better to save all your points until you are able to hit your maximum cap (for example, saving up all SP until I can put speed up to 68), or should I get to each softcap indivually (send SP as soon as I can hit the 48 cap, and then as soon as I can hit the 60 cap, and then as soon as I can hit the 68 cap)

Just to be clear, I am talking about a single attribute, I'm not asking whether I should be 48-capping each stat before bringing any attribues up to the 60-cap

Getting to the 48 cap asap makes the best use of your natural level gains.

depends what position you are softcapping.

positions like center and DT you want to soft cap asap cause of the big level up bonus

positions like cb and OT you can pretty much stockpile so you can train at low levels for a longer time.

I personally agree with this. For the CB & OT (and other positions with many major attributes) I would train until you can reach 60, then invest to 60. At that point your level bonuses are worth 3 times as much in skill point cost and you're probably only getting 1 skill point every 3 or 4 training sessions, which could be a level or two worth of bonuses.

In most cases you want to spend the points when you can reach a cap to take advantage of future leveling bonuses.

Once you reach the 48 cap and stop training an attribute you can put in points whenever you get them. Example if you have a WR and use points to hit the 48 cap...next level up you can spend 4 points and take it to 50 immediately...no need waiting until you have enough points to hit 60 since you are no longer training the attribute.

True but what is better, to continue until you reach 2nd or 3rd cap OR move to another major attribute?

depends on when you want him to be effective I would think. although I saw a lvl 1 WR outrun two lvl 30 players today,.

but remember that just because a stat is called "secondary" doesn't mean "useless"

I was talking about this player:

Trying to put more points to Throwing and reach 3rd cap while training Vision or soft cap Vision?

I think the best way to go is to train an ability for as long as possible before putting points into it, even if you forgo some of the levelup bonuses

Depends on the position and your build plan. I am an advocate of taking the primary attribute as high as you will ever take it using SP before moving to the next attribute.

Example...if I am building a speed based WR...I would take speed to the 5-1 cap (73+) before using SPs on any other attribute. Around level 40 the WR will then have ~80+ natural speed just from leveling bonuses...which starts costing 7 or 8 SP per one point gain...you basically get a stat higher than you would ever be able to take it using SPs because of the high cost at that point.

The downside is it take a long time to build a complete player...I target my players to start being complete players by season 5. I do not mind waiting and sacrificing early stats to have a beast of a player in the prime of his career.

I was thinking the same to be honest (not too high, I was thinking 68 (3rd cap) or 73 will be good) but wanted to hear what the more experienced players have to say. Thank you for your response.

like everyone said it all depends on position, what you're training, how high you want the attribute, how quickly you're leveling, etc. There is no one answer to this question.

DO you only play slowbuild teams? How do you get enough PT to make it worthwhile?

I only develop players on slow build teams. By end of season 3 they are at least capable though still unbalanced and weak in certain aspects but by season 5 they are ready. Actually the slow build teams I have been on by their 3rd season they are generally in the top couple teams in the conference. All the players on the team are slow builds and playing time is designed so everyone gets about equal...so that has never been an issue.
