I have a RDE with 70 speed and 80 agility. Would a 70/90 ratio or 80/80 be more effective?

I would say 70/90.

Top end speed isn't as important for a DE, you're usually travelling a very short distance, the burst you get off the line or when changing directions is more important.

if im not mistaken, both speed and agility control acceleration
that is the reason why high speed DE still generate lots of pressure

I long ago stopped thinking about speed and agility as a ratio. I think it impairs the ability to properly evaluate performance. The only relation between the two that I find important, is when speed is very high and agility is not...then a ratio perspective may have importance.

Each attribute is important in its own right.

I think you need high speed or the QB just dumps the ball before the sack. At least that was the way it was....

I have 70/90 I could move equipment around and go 80/80 for a couple of games if you want. I like 70/90 though.

70/90 is the best I've seen in action as a team owner tbh

Are any RE's doing anything this season? After the vision change last season it seemed like LE were going to start being the sack machines.

My Agl based RDE just had 4 sacks against an equal team (according to the matchup overall), and two equal lvl Olinemen (all 3 players are lvl 21), I was way happy about that. He was built to be a LDE but my DC and I tried him at RDE and he's been getting great results.

Seems like the last couple years have been a strength race between RDEs and LOT, so if you put an agl/spd rusher on that side you have a good chance of facing a brick-house of a LOT that was built with no plans of moving his feet in the future. Their back up blocker is the HB/FB and my guy went through them like butter the last game, much easier then the TE.

(Underdog, the RDE actually goes up against the LOT, and the secondary blocker is normally the HB or FB. Not being a jerk, I've gleaned a lot of good info off your posts in the past which I've used to build my DE).

As more of us spd rush from the RDE position teams will start to adjust, building better blocking FBs, HBs, TEs and more agile LOTs. But spd/agl build, as UD has been arguing in favor of for a long time, isn't nerfed, it's forcing oppenants to keep more of their offensive weapons in the backfield for protection which means a lot even if we don't get the sacks. That's a dominating defense.

RDE = LDE
there is pretty much no change in RDE and LDE

The RE has to face the LT who has protect.....The LE has to deal with the TE/FB staying home to block more. Just from what I've looked at it seems like there are more successful LE's.
