I was wondering if there was any truth that blocking helps out the D-line?

It helps so little that its not even noticeable. It helps less than say, putting points into strength/agility/vision....

no, don't waste your points on a myth.
its not a myth. Im pulling this from bort himself.

Bort, this is off topic, but...
most people think blocking for d-linemen is basically useless and therefore should never be trained.
Would you agree or disagree?
feel free to ignore.
It's part of the break block formula. Not a big part, but it's in there.

Its a myth in that no one has ever seen tangible results from it. Everyone has seen that quote and people have tried to prove it, no one has. At least no one that has come forward.

Several folks have come forward, actually (I think David Amazing might even be amongst them....can't recall for certain or remember the thread...)
I, for one, find it does have some incremental value. It is a little harder to make happen with the current intense training combos, however
I don't advocate spending points on it though, just training. I have a semi-slowbuilding DT who intense trained str/blocking and Agi/blocking to start his career. Should be at a decent level after the level-up points in 25 levels or so...
I don't know if those training sessions are better spent elsewhere, but it definitely has some small incremental value.

There is a DT on one of my teams and he has some of the highest blocking I"ve really seen from DT's, it seems pretty noticeable that he is the best shed blocker on the team, and doesn't have that much spent on shed block SA

just so hard to put so many points into softcapping an unknown, but that' really the only way we'll come close to knowing for sure
