Just created him, here's the plan:

1. Train Speed and Agility until I have enough SP to bring both to 1st cap
2. Repeat but with Jumping and Catching.
3. Start training Vision/Confidence. Switch to Strength/Stamina after Vision/Confidence break 30
4. One by one bring Agility/Jumping/Catching to 2nd cap

This will keep me busy for a while and give me more time to think about what to do next. Two questions.

1. What kind of equips should I buy for such a player?
2. What would you do after the above plan? Bring something to a 3rd cap? SAs?

I'm leaning towards Route Run to 10 directly after.

if you don't get your carrying up he will be more of a detriment then a help for your team. You'll have a reciever that gets a lot of high pressure throws thrown at him and drops/tips a large percentage.

Has carrying been confirmed by Bort to reduce drops and tips?

If you see a receiver catch the ball and then get it knocked out during the tackle...this is lack of carrying. Carrying has to do with securing the ball after the catch.

I can alter step 3, then, to make sure to train confidence/carrying then confidence/vision or some such combo

doh, true.

I could do jumping/catching .... cap catching first
switch to strength/jumping ... cap jumping
now carrying / confidence ... cap carrying
confidence/vision

that should keep me busy.

well, because I need to get some strength training in there somewhere, and it pairs with jumping nicely. I'll be training vision with confidence
