hes losing 2 vision to put on this piece so id like to know what exactly is he getting with the +11% PassQual?

I think it is 11% of your throwing score. So if you have 100 throwing, it is as if you have 111 THrowing come game time I'd guesstimate. That is some sick AEQ.

Pass Quality has more inputs than just your Throwing attribute. (For example, we know that a hurry can reduce your pass quality and that Confidence affects how much.)

He has already bought it and upgraded it at least 3 times.

I really like your post about confidence in the playoffs and late in the game, in fact I just finished quoting it in our team forum since I think it could potentially help us a lot.

I think it doesn't modify your throwing score directly but instead a total achieved by combining lots of factors including your throwing stat.. I think when a QB throws a pass the game makes a quality roll to determine how on target and "pretty" the pass is and the results are modified up or down based on the QB stats, current energy, current morale, throwing on the run, being hurried, SAs, pass distance etc. A high number might let a QB drop a pass out in front of a receiver in stride while a lower number would make the ball farther off target and harder to catch/easier to deflect or intercept. If that's the case the above equipment would increase the results by 11% for the final total so base result of 100 would become 111.

I think there is a roll because you need some randomness in the system, there is nothing saying a league's best QB can't come in and throw a terrible pass that gets picked off to start the game despite having a great build and perfect energy/morale with zero pressure. Of course, it doesn't happen a lot so the random roll might be small and the other factors might play much bigger roles. in determining the final quality.

I would assume "Tight Spiral" does something similar to +% pass quality equipment and the bonuses stack. "Pocket Presence" also sounds like it might work the same way but only when your QB is under pressure, helping to negate the penalty for being hurried.

i didnt want to include this upfront because i didnt want to confuse the issue, but now that weve got started consider this:

i think the most interesting part of my question is that after the 2nd upgrade when he was losing -3 Vision to get the +9 PassQual he definitely did WORSE. i didnt think the -3 Vision could make that big of a difference, especially with the expected benefit of +9 PassQual, but in that case it did. either that or it was just uncanny bad luck that every mofo time i applied it over probably six or so games he just happened to do worse

now that i just upgraded it again i will be very eager to see if the additional +1 Vision and +2% PassQuality will finally swing the advantage toward that pieces favor

I'm glad I could help man. Confidence is underrated, and we make it a team effort to get everyone to invest some training/sp into it. Our last playoff stretch sold me and the fact that there is even a "Heart of a Champion" Vet ability for it, just proves how much the need for confidence is ratcheted up in the playoffs.

If you go back to our games and see the Turnover differential between our squad and the squads we beat you'll see how important it was. We had a couple of games there were we lost the the Total yardage offense battle by damn near 200 yards, but we won the game because we forced turnovers, had defensive TDs, made drives count with TDs, and became beastly in the fourth with last minute heroics. I really think we were the most "confident" squad in the league playoffs and we beat the best the league had to offer to win it all.

I was just impressed when I saw that every post season victory was off of a score with less than 2 minutes to go. That's either extreme coincidence or pretty good evidence that confidence is a big factor in the closing minutes of games and playoff games in particular.
