I've been finding in short coverage he usually hits the line before a gap opens. Thought it might be better to blitz from medium or long coverage. Or maybe it's a formation issue?

Your thoughts?

Formation issue imo. Try putting him at LOT, you're almost guaranteed a sack that way.

blitzing the safety alone will almost never get you a sack

you need to also blitz other players that show up higher on the OL's radar, so that the safety gets thru clean

This is pretty much the case....and I would try blitzing from Cover 1 or 0 close coverage. If you have ridiculous speed, you can blitz from further out, but it is rarely that effective.

I was usually trying it with the MLB as well but it just seems like the SS gets stuck up in the pile. SS is also pretty fast. at 90 speed and 58 agil.
