Trying to decide how deep we want to be on offense. Should I have 4 guys at guard and 4 guys at tackle, or can I get by with 3 at each?

it depeds on their stamina, but 3 of each should be ok, if they have decent stamina...and less will bitch and moan about playing time that way also...

If you do go with 4, get 2 of each left and right and try to split time evenly and they should get plenty of playing time.

If you can find 4 good ones, then go for it... but id rather have 3 good ones than 4 mediocre ones

These would be the bare minimum:

1 QB
1 HB
1 FB
2 C
3 G
3 OT
Combination of 5 WRs and TEs (Ideally 1 TE and 4 WRs)

Most people have 2 HBs though.

That's way too short for me. That's more like a development roster.

Ideal for me is:

1-2 QBs depending on your system
3 HB
2 FB
2 C
3-4 G
3-4 OT
5 WRs
2 TEs - Ideally 1 blocking, 1 passing

The 3rd HB and the 5th WR help with KR/PR and ST if needed.

At the XP floor it only takes 20 plays for Max XP, your offense is usually on the field at least 60 mostly 70+ plays a game. Of course, if you can't find the right builds then you go on the "needed" end of the scale rather than the preferred. Usually players balk at playing time, but if you're keeping them fresh and subbing right, they're making bigger plays because they have better energy so it'll even out.

Pshhh what do you know. Less players = less money spent = more money in my pocket! muhahahahaha, but yea....depth is good.

Exactly. A team *may* need 2 FBs but only if they run only I and pro set formations. If you run a decent amount of shotgun and single back formations, you do not need 2 FBs.

3 OTs and 3 Gs are fine as long as they have adequate stamina.

what are you saying is adequate stamina? 35?

Our 3 OTs have 39 stamina on average.
Our 3 Gs have 35 stamina on average.

I'd say 35 on average or higher should be fine for just 3 at either position. Just make sure you set your energy settings so that it rotates them out so energy doesn't become a problem.

Our o-line gave up the least amount of sacks in our league last season, so we weren't getting overly tired out there.

If you only carry 2 TE's and 1 FB you're going to end up with someone unpleasant at your third TE spot on Goalline. Also, FB's are great for ST blocking.

I know, just trying to give an opposite end of the spectrum for comparison.
