The Nighthawks will be closing up shop.

We have enjoyed our time in the League and GLB. The level of competition was outstanding. But the time requirements of the game to compete at a elite level continue to grow each season as the complexity of the game increases. I plan on taking a season off and then possible seek out a working GM position on a team where I could submit a game plan for every other game. If Bort opens up a new league with a 4 or 5 day span between games the NightHawks would live again.

If not for a emergency service provider outage last night we would have already been sold back and regulated out of the league.

The Boston NightHawk Organization hope that all of you have a Happy Holiday Season.

God Bless
Sledge

Wow...

That actually explains a lot. Sad to see you guys go. You guys were going to be our measuring stick for the next few seasons...the less we lose to Boston, the better we're getting.

This better not screw up our RPI ratings next year.

Oh and good luck to you guys, your offense proved to be the real deal indeed.

Was looking forward to round 3 since we haven't played since season 2. Probably better this way..now we didn't get our asses handed to us and I can keep the faint hope that we would somehow keep it close against you guys in a rubber match.

All the best!

I still remember when we got promoted to AAA #2. My then DC (before he went on his camping trip to Iraq) and I were looking over the teams and started listing off teams that would be our biggest challenges, and, despite being a little lower lvled than some, I predicted that the Hawks would be the biggest. How true that turned out to be. You guys have always been pure class. I won't miss winning such a low % of games against you, but I will miss the tests and scrims.

Edit: I noted that, of the East teams at that time, that ***O*** would be a big one too...Why did I have to be so right about both those teams?!

Ray -

Best to you and Long for the Holdays - you guys built a dynasty from bottom up and it's great to retire on top.

Sorry to see the Boston Nighthawks go. They have definitely been a class team of GLB. I remember you guys all the way back when you used to kick our ass in USA BB/AA3 when I was on the Las Vegas Aces.

Since our game I have spoken a great deal to both Ray and Long. Great guys both of them. They know this game inside out and are just quality people. I think it's because like myself they are both from Jersey.

I've known Boston from my first day on GLB (they were in the same USA BB conference with us) and even after they promoted, would keep in touch with them from time to time because it was clear that they were a class act and knew what the hell they were doing. Can't say that I'll miss the Nighthawks, but I will miss their owners/agents. Best of luck to all of em.
