OK well I'm 4th on CB depth chart and mainly play on special teams. I got 5 skill points to spend and I got 78 speed (16 from equipment), 63 agility 53 vision and 38 jumping. Since Im the 4th string, should I put those points into speed/agility to boost my performance in chasing the punt/kick returner or bring jumping to the soft cap? Because what I'm doing right now is training jumping along with catching but its taking a while to get to softcap

confidence = suck... my corner has 16, and does just fine... always has. last season had 27 reg season INTs and 150 PDs with only 81 tkls. ive said it before on here, but putting points in confidence is building to lose. only need confidence if you are behind, and seriously? who builds a player thinking that they want to be on a losing team?? id take stam over confidence, and stam is def pretty low on my list. 35-40 stamina should be all you need for your entire career. points in confidence could be put to better use in vision or agility... or jumping...or heck id even take tackling/strength. confidence is ftl.

No one is saying to put points into it.

Train it.

Players with 30+ CONFIDENCE play better in the playoffs.

Oh really? Let's look at your season 6 results.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player_game_log.pl?player_id=365592

6 int 216-0 0-16
1 int 45-3 10-6
3 int 68-10 6-10
8 int 255-0 0-16
3 int 174-3 1-15
3 int 98-0 5-11
3 int 51-27 13-3

You have 27 Regular season INT's in 7 games.
20 of those INT's came in games where your team scored at least 98 points, and only gave up 3 points total, against teams with a combined record of 6-58.
4 of your INT's came in games against teams with a winning record.

Of course you don't need confidence when you play on a good team against crappy competition. BTW, congratulations on shutting down those deadly level 16 WR's.

Man did this guy like to toot his own horn on our league forum last year. He is a good cornerback, but not the greatest thing since slice bread and he played on a monstrous 16-0 team (until the playoffs where their low confidence hurt them in the conference final and where they were majorly upset by a team that they were beating by 5-6 levels across the board) that forced teams into being singularly pass focus to play catchup. And the Eastern Conference of our league was WOEFULLY inferior to the West and had multiple 200+ beatdowns of cupcakes and CPU teams.

I'd still take our CB over him.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player_game_log.pl?player_id=598949

Just look at the playoff/even competition stats.

Sure Duger had 3 INTs in the playoffs to our guys 1 INT, but he also had 35 tackles to our guy's 14 tackles and only 21 PDs to our guy's 16.

Most (not all) tackles for CBs come on plays where the CB is beaten by the WR, so Duger got picked on and beat some 6 times a game to our guys 3 times a game. He also only deflected a pass at a little more than half as many times as he was burned while our guy had more PDs than tackles, meaning our guy was blanketing the WR more than he was lifting the skirt ala Duger.

Our CB has way more than Duger's 18 confidence, played against better competition throughout the season and in the playoffs, and when it came down to crunch time, didn't fold like Mr. Trophy hunter here.

Don't listen to this guy, confidence matters. Unless you want individual trophies and getting knocked out early in the playoffs.

Why are you measuring CB performance on INTs? If your CB is good, he will rarely be thrown at and will not get many chances to get ints. If your CB is average or sucky, he'll get thrown at a lot and get occasional interceptions off volume - in between the regular spankings he gets from the offense.

You need to measure coverage performance, not INTS.
