When I first bought the Gamblers mid season 1 and we were 4-4 and lost the first four games under my control, I knew it would be a long road to USA Pro but that was our ultimate goal. We ended up winning our last 4 games, just barely missing the playoffs, but it would be the only time that would happen. The following season we started to turn the corner, going 13-3 and losing in the second round of the playoffs. The next season we became legitimate contenders, going 15-1 and losing in the conference championship game. The following season, we bettered our regular season record, going 16-0, but repeated our conference championship game failure by losing. Season 5 saw us return to 15-1, but we finally broke our conference championship game losing streak with a win that earned us a promotion to USA AAA #2. This league was much tougher but our team still managed a 14-2 record. Unfortunately, we've decided we are like the Buffalo Bills of GBL as we lost yet another championship game. It was disappointing because we know how few opportunities to get promoted come up.
While coming in through the backdoor due to the Mustangs disbandment isn't the way we wanted to do it, we're certainly glad to be here and are looking forward to the challenge. We completely understand our days of 16-0, 15-1, 14-2 are long gone, but we'll do everything we can to be competitive.
