Has anyone used the pre set defense play 4-3 Man Flats? I was wondering if it would be any good in regards to stopping passes against the Weak I and Strong I.

I sparingly use the pre-set plays.
Taking the LB's out to the flats on both sides leaves a huge hole in the middle. That's one play I have never considered actually.

I've actually ran it when I was expecting the other team to try and cheese some HB screens.

i use it when i want to counter heavy outside running. worked pretty well so far
everybody loves that DE Contain play for that, and it works great as long as they run outside, but if they dont then youre in trouble. i like the Man Flats better

Didn't think about the outside run, thought it might work good for the short passes to rhe HB and FB. Actually when you take most of the short passes in the above formations, it looks like it should work.
