I was wondering, has anyone created a FB with HB abilities and played him in the HB position? and how did it work out?

Just curious but why would you do that?

Yes. I'm building a FB/Powerback.

Positives:
-Great natural strength and carrying gains.
-Cheaper to create and boost.
-Quick Cut and Power Through are next to each other on the tree, saving sp.

Negatives:
-No natural speed/agility boosts, so it takes longer to cap them.
-Limited to QC/PT as rushing SA's, miss out on stiff arm and lower shoulder.
-Everyone wants to actually use your FB as a FB, even when he's better than the HB's.

FBs get better agility boosts than HBs. (.5 per level to .33 in the lower levels)

Building one up now. Although we'll see if he's used in the HB spot.

Plan is to train speed while saving points, then invest to 60. I like the Power Thru & Quick Cut on the same line, although I haven't invested in them yet.

Once I can get speed to the low 60's, I'll probably put two pieces of +5 equipment into speed to 70, then CE + two +5 pieces into agility. By level 34, with equipment, I should be somewhere around 85+ agility, 70 speed, 75 strength, 50+ carrying with several levels bonuses still working for me.

In the long run, I'll probably train speed again and try to get it to 68 natural while working on other stats and SAs.

EDIT: Oh, and I know it doesn't make a difference, but he's 6'3" 242 lbs; FBs can be 6'4" 250 lbs. A HB can only get to 220, I think.

Going for speed to the second currently. Training the catch and carry until I can cap carry. Right now he is pretty much only used in goal line O and on kick offs and punts. He makes a lot more than his fair share of the tackles. once spd and carry are taken care of I might replace normal EQ on strength with an advanced piece on Spd.

Yes sure have and if you get your numbers right can be VERY effective! His numbers have slimmed down since season 5 because he has the ONLY 5000yard rusher (non capped league) on his team. Season 5 he just ran over people!!! have fun!
