are agility based DE's the only way to go to get a lot of sacks? a lot of OTs go a mix of agility and strength so id think going all out strength and speed might be a good way to go, plus you could get more fumbles. am i wrong?

It was a good way to go in season 2, then Bort nerfed the strength builds after game 3 of season 3. So far I haven't seen a strength build work since then. Only agility and speed builds.

so which is more important (i,e, which to put equipment in); speed or agility.

I am pretty certain this guy has high strength, and he does okay:

I think there are simply not many folks pursuing high strength possiblities due to the "lemming" factor.

Be an innovator!

Because I have a pretty good idea what it takes to get a 57 pass rush bar...having a player that has one myself

That's not infallible knowledge, which is why I said "pretty sure."

I would guess that strength is one of his two highest attributes. Could be a close third though.

yeah but the PR bar for a guy like David Amazing isn't 57, yet he mashes...

umm..Right...nobody is arguing about whether David Amazing lives up to his name (he does in my book).

The question has to do with the viability or even usefulness of a high strength build. Which seems quite viable to me.

David Amazing is clearly not a high strength build, so a low strength build is also quite viable. But I am pretty certain anyone who has spent more than 4 minutes perusing this forum knows that...

Going to have to disagree here. I think strength is mostly useless. Softcapping strength is ok but after that Id leave it alone.

Put me in the camp of very high strength provides little to no benefit.

Saw a 100 strength DE, capped+ both agility and speed...0 sacks...

I think you need some strength but not much more than the soft cap.

agility. i had a high speed DE at one time, he was garbage. when i rearranged my equipment to give him more agility he finally start to show up on the stat sheet a little bit. i still retired him because i wasted so many points, but i could definitely tell the agility made a difference. think about it, once you're past the linemen, how far do you really have to go to get to the QB? A couple yards. You don't need to run a 4.3 to get to him for the sack if you've got high enough agility to 1) get off the block quick and 2) get up to your not-quite-so-impressive top speed.

He is not high or low. Try softcapped and you are close. His PR bar comes from agility.
