Punting is at 79 naturally (6:1). He has an advanced piece of equipment that is + 1 confidence/+1 Big Boot. Should I get conficence up to the 3:1 cap? Start pumping the SA's? Put SP's into vision/strength/agility?

I found confidence is very worthwhile early and it pays off naturally best later too, it'd take it to 61 for now personally.

Vision and confidence is the way to go.

Look into training strength and put a few points in there as well. (35ish for now?) Its not overly important, but it should not be neglected when you are forced to punt from your own end zone and the game is within a touchdown of anybody's reach.

The biggest problem with training strength on intense (to get the bonus points to upgrade my advanced equipment) is there really isn't a good 2nd attribute choice to train it with in regards to punters other than strength + punting. If there was a strength + vision or a strength + confidence that would be great. For now I guess I'll work on my confidence and vision.

strength + jumping

Personally I'd train vision as high as you can while you cap confidence, before putting points into it, then train strength with jumping (supposedly helps air time) while you cap vision. Punters rely most heavily on a few stats and it pays off to train them before you inevitably put points into them just because other stats are so much less worthwhile, so I'd hold off on agility/jumping/stamina for now.

That's a great build. I agree with cheesepillow's thoughts but would recommend cap 2 on conf since you are close, then cap 1 on vision.

That's what I'm doing w/ my punter. He's just over 2nd cap on STR and 80 on punting (w/o EQ of course). I'm bringing his confidence and vision to at least the 2nd cap in S7 and all his future EQ will likely go into confidence as my punting is 100+ right now.
