I also would like to know what is going on here.

As a GM for the team I can help explain the name of the team... Hans Hammer is one of the players on the parent team, Over the Rhine Red Dots. Hans is also quite famous on the FFA boards. Because of his superstar persona, some of the mods got angry and permabanned him, but Hans is so famous that God stepped in and reinstated Hans. Hans was so happy about being reinstated that he partaked in his favorite activity, eating meatsteaks and drinking rubbing alcohol. Unfortunately, after dinking his 10th galon of rubbing alcohal, our very dear friend passed away. Since he will be grreatly missed, we decided to rename the team in his honor.

Yeah, this makes me feel more strongly that:

1) When you go back to look at old games, it should have the name of the team at the time of the game.

2) There needs to be some rules as to what you can name your team. I'd even be happy if they made it a requirement that you use a real city in the region your league is in.

This is what happens, though, when you mix sports fans with non-sports fans/RPG fans. Or, maybe kids. And, by "kids", I don't care how old you are.

Then again, maybe I am just the crazy sports nerd.

Not mad. Just saying I wouldn't mind a system where that sort of naming was "illegal". More realistically, I think we'd be better off with a naming scheme that forced something vaguely like a place followed by something vaguely like a plural noun.

Our team actually debated whether we should rename ourselves "Washington" since we were in the Western Conference, but we decided it was OK because of the ambiguity between Washington, DC (which most of us live near) and Washington state.

I honestly cannot see how a name can bother ANYONE. So it's a long name, might be a company or another forum. So what? It doesn't hurt anyone.

Pj- Thank you... For those of you who are bitching about this, once your done crying a river, come down off your cross so you can use the wood to build yourself a bridge to get the f*** over it! Seriously, we are just having some fun and supporting a fellow teammate who was done wrong by Mods, and other users on PowerTrips... If you really have a problem with the team name, then you should be the one who should look in the mirror and ask yourself "How old am I to let the name of team on a computer football game get my panties all in a bunch?"

I like the name personally.

I don't care what they named the team. it's a slow build that's well run and building right..

The fact that the owner does crack before picking a team name does not come into play at all the staff knows how to build players.. they treat there players right and well I'm not sure we give a rats ass what anyone else thinks about it...
