its rare to find a CB who has softcapped below mid-30s and I'm wondering if I'm the only one who likes their shutdown CBs to have at least softcapped jumping by 30

I would say most feel getting speed, agility, and/or vision up to 60+ is more important and jumping can wait.

who ignores jumping? Most people who build good corners find it the 4th most important attribute.

ya, it's trainable till you get the speed, agility, and vision high enough to do some damage. if they are sitting in the high 20's or low 30's they have probably been training it for a while. Ask a dude what he plans on doing with the build. He will probably tell you he wants his speed agility and vision at least up to 60 before he worries about actually spending s.p.'s in jumping.

I have several CB's and I built my last two with different starting skills just to find out which skills were more important. One I soft capped with jumping to 48 and the other speed, well needless to say jumping is the last of the four main attributes they need.My speed CB doesn't get burned at the 21 level while my jumping CB who is soft capped at 48 constantly gets beat.

Well yeah, of course your CB will constantly get beaten if you softcap jumping first. Then his speed would be like 20s

I like a fast CB with high speed/agility/vision. These are the top three attributes. I have recently built a CB and the first thing i did was to get his jumping to 35 then soft cap his vision. He has 4 INT's so far this season. His speed is 37 with equipment and agility is like 23. My other CB has 80 speed, 61 agility, and 52 vision... he has no int's this season. I know the level of competition and the teams they are on factor, but maybe jumping is a little more important than we give it credit. not the first thing on the list maybe, but definately on the list.

jumping is on the list where it should be.
Speed
agility
vision
jumping

The reason why your slower guy is getting more int's is because your faster guy shuts down receivers. your slower one gets thrown at a lot and sometimes tips fall in your hands.

good point. And if it weren't for the team that he played for his stats would reflect this. But he has over 100 tackles and under 30 PD's. But that is becasue he played a lot of FS/SS/ and even LB. But i recently bought the team and stats are improving a bit.

Jumping is very important. I retired my highest level CB as I brought up 2 more (versions 2 and 3.0 respectively).

I am trying the same plan for both for the most part.

2.0 I have spd/agi/vision to the 61 softcap and vision softcapped at 48.

3.0 I am working spd/agi to the68 softcap, vision is at 61, and jumping will be softcapped next season.

Want to see if taking spd/agi higher base makes the DB preform better.

2.0 Is a 75/75 spd/agi guy 3.0 is a 83/72 spd/agi guy.

Sure its important - after getting stamina up (especially if you start in D-Leagues, or end up on a crappy team like me and have to play 80 plays a game), softcapped speed and agility and vision. Which makes in the 4th stat to soft-cap and the 5th stat to worry about.

Which is why CB's ignore jumping
