I'll give 12th a break again this week.

NOTE - Ranking changes are based on 12th's last rankings (week 9).

1. Boston Nighthawks (11-0)
Defeated Sin 79-7
Ranking: Unchanged (previous 1)

Totally dismantled a likely playoff team by 72. Scary good this team is.

2. Philadelphia Pushovers (10-1)
Defeated Rage 30-27
Ranking: 0 (previous 2)

Really shouldn't have won this game. Two defensive scores were the difference. Did not drop because I believe the Rage to be an excellent team.

3. Detroit Demon Lions (9-2)
Defeated K-zoo 38-20
Ranking: 0 (previous 3)

Another solid showing by DDL

4. Green Bay Maulers (8-3)
Defeated Camden 241-0
Ranking: +4 (previous 8)

Why such a big leap for Green Bay? They are riding a quality 6 game winning streak and have the momentum heading into crunch time.

5. Cincinnati Shockers (8-3)
Defeated Continentals 52-22
Ranking: 0 (previous 5)

The Shockers are an excellent team and look to capture a home playoff game.

6. Washington Bullets (9-2)
Defeated Madcats 60-10
Ranking: -2(previous 4)

I have them ranked 6 because despite the fact they beat Cincy (convincingly) they have had some ugly losses and I'm never sure which Bullets team will show up week to week.

NOW IT GETS UGLY

7. Chicago Mustangs (5-6)
Defeated Pirates 42-31
Ranking: +3 (previous 11)

The Mustangs keep hanging around, despite Vick's efforts. Their DEs will always make their defense solid and they have enough players on offense to make plays to help them win games.

8. Orlando Pirates (5-6)
Lost to Mustangs 42-31
Ranking: -2 (previous 6)

Four losses in a row has left this team in a free fall. Could easily go 1-4 down the stretch and not make the playoffs.

9. Doomsday Sin (5-6)
Lost to Nighthawks 79-7
Ranking: -2 (previous 7)

Doomsday has a much better road to the playoffs than Orlando and will likely take the last seed.

10. Gridiron Rage (5-6)
Lost to Philly 30-27
Ranking: -1 (previous 9)

Almost pulled a huge upset vs. Philly today if not for the turnovers.

11. Rhode Island Red Wolves (4-7)
Defeated Warpath 255-0
Ranking: -1 (previous 11)

Always dangerous club with a virtual bye week this week.

12. Kalamazoo Coyotes (4-7)
Lost to DDL 38-20
Ranking: 0 (previous 12)

Kzoo is still putting the pieces together after losing their roster this offseason.

The rest:

13. Philadelphia Continentals (unch.)
14. Kentucky Madcats 1-6 (unch.)
15. Camden Outkasts 0-7 (+1)
16. D.C Warpath 1-6 (-1)

I'll preface this by saying that I'm not trying to be an ass or make an excuse for anything.

But I think the reason we didn't do as well was because we sort of half-assed tactics, ran a lot of the same stuff we have for the past bunch of games. We all figured by doing so, the game would have been closer than it should have been, but thought we could win like that.

But that's not an excuse, that's just one reason it was as close as it was. It was a damn close game and knowing how close it turned out, I feel a bit lucky that we didn't lose with the way we went into the game. If we had to do over, I would have put more work into it just to be safe.

Also, I'm not sure why the 2 defensive TDs mean much when they were one for each team (we had an INT returned for a score.....by out DTand the Rage had a fumble returned for a TD) so they even out.

But as always, great job and writeup .

Jed, this is the second time you've had a near loss to a solid team (us and now Rage) because you don't take the game as seriously as you should. Builds are getting closer and closer to each other and it really does come down to gameplanning. You guys are still one of the class teams of the East, but don't look past some of the lower teams, or one might just catch you one of these days

Great point Josh. Too many teams are solid at this point to over look anyone.

We try to win every game. If we end the day with a W we are satisfied. It was not so much a matter of overlooking them. I knew they would be tough after how they handled Kalamazoo. So I did just enough for us to win. I am a student and I know the rest of the GMs and Jed have real lives and some of us have life-changing things going on so we kind of pick our spots of when to spend hours and hours gameplanning.

Josh, you're totally right, we're probably gonna lose a game or 2 because of life, but well, it's life. Coming back from 5 days away from work, I was damn busy (had some issues with AT&T which was killing our internet connection across 2 offices, had a color printer die which was the only color printer for the office, along with a number of other stupid things which needed my attention immediately), I assume everyone else was busy, too.

If it's not the playoffs, I'm not going to take extra time out of my life that I don't have in order to guarantee a win. That's why I've gotten some great GMs in Tpat, Drazz, and Madet0, but sometimes they're busy as well. I'm not going to get mad about it, we'll just do our best with what we got and go from there.

edit: and btw, I'm pretty sure our only loss can be chalked up to the same kind of thing, but like I said, it happens.

I think we can all understand where you're coming from Jed. I doubt there are many people here that have the time to spend hours on end to game plan, especially during the holidays. It doesn't matter much when it comes to the regular season anyhow.
