I was thinking, maybe the key isn't loads of speed/agility/vision/tunnel vision or whatever else. If a CB gets beat multiple times per game, then their performance drops. The same can be said for a defensive end. If you're not beating the OT and the pass is completed, then shouldn't their morale should drop as well? Most games have roughly 45 average pass plays, so that's about 18 times that you are getting stopped with split plays and assuming you're getting some pressure.

I'm just saying, maybe confidence is the most overlooked attribute in this game.

The top DEs largely won't have problems with low confidence so I can't be sure either way. I would keep it around 30 or 40, along with vision.

Vision should be higher. Confidence is important imo, but vision is much more so.

Ehh, I think everyone jumped on the Julius Dee bandwagon without experimenting for themselves. IMO Dee could have 20 vision and would only see a slight drop in his stats. Then again, my DEs build is pretty unique among the top DEs, and vision might not help me specifically.

I still feel that with the speed, agility, and SAs that the generic pass rusher has, vision is unnecessary. To each his own.

I've been a fan of vision long before Julius Dee was tearing up defenses. I really think you're taking a hit in your production with low vision (read: not just sacks) even if you have First Step pumped really high to negate the snap delay vision penalty.

Mmm... it's possible. Our stats are eerily similar though - 40 vs. 41 non-sack tackles, 18 vs. 20 TFLs, etc. - and I don't use vision. I'll probably end up soft capping it simply because I've nothing better to do with my SP and I'll tell you if I notice a difference in his performance but as is, I doubt there will be.

And if you don't get to your target before a big play happens, then your performance will drop, much like stamina does late in the game. So instead of pumping speed, agility and tunnel vision so you could be a big dog for a few plays, just kick up your confidence so you could perform great throughout the game instead of raising speed/agility with 4 skill points or whatever cap you're at.

I'm not saying this actually happens but its logical. Then again, 60 sacks a season isn't, so depends on how the GLB god(Bort) has coded confidence into coming into play.

The answer is no. Julius Dee has never even touched Confidence and he's basically the staple for speed rushing DEs.

I'm not saying that Confidence is useless. There are always going to be multiple ways to create a good player at every position, I'm just saying that you don't need confidence to be a successful DE, a la Julius Dee.

I already do perform throughout games.

confidence seems like something that you'd need to rebound from a bad play. aside from getting pancaked, which you don't see too often if you have enough strength/agility, why would you need confidence? not for any SAs. i don't see the correlation, tbh.

2nd best DE in SEAsia Pro has 20 confidence, mildly important like the 7th most important attribute for a passrushing DE

1. Agility
2. Speed
3. Strength
4. Vision
5. Stamina
6. Tackling

7.Confidence

with tunnel vision, shed block and first step all up there as well
