Warrior General Games

Man, the top four out West are having a heck of a battle right now. All four have been beaten once, and there are some big games ahead. Let me fill it out on how it stands right now in the top four. My rankings are based on current odds to win the division.

1. Compton- These guys currently sit at 8-1 and have passed the test part of the schedule by playing all three other top teams. While the loss to Oakyville stung, they made themselves the strong favorite by beating both ORLY and Carolina. I think they cruise over their last seven and will finish no worse than second in the division depending on whether Oakyville wins out.

2. Oakyville- These guys control their own destiny, which no other team in the division can claim. Win out and they are division champs. Any of the other teams can finish 15-1 and still need help. With that said though, it's a very tall order. They have Carolina next week and a rivalry game with ORLY in a few weeks. Win this next one and that ORLY game may become the single biggest game in the division this season. Lose next week, and they are basically out of it and shooting for a three seed.

3.ORLY- They, like Carolina, would need help. They cruised out to an easy 8-0 start, but their first test of the year didn't go so well as they fell to Compton 41-24. They do have a shot at a 2 seed if they can win out against the Bar Stars and Nungas and hold serve through the rest of their schedule. But anything more would depend on a Compton loss against the easiest second half schedule out of all the contenders.

4.Carolina- Like ORLY, they have full control over their chance for a two seed, but the top seed is out of their hands thanks to a loss to Compton. Their entire seeding predicament will be known over the next two weeks as they play both Oakyville and ORLY back-to-back. IF they win both of those, they are looking at a sure two seed. IF they lose just one, the choice between a three or four seed will depend on the result of the ORLY-Oakyville game down the line.


Big games to watch:

Carolina at Oakyville 11/30/2008: Oakyville must win this one to keep a strong bid for a 1 seed active.

ORLY at Carolina 12/2/2008: Winner could very well end up with no worse than a two seed.

Compton at Wyoming 12/4/2008: Compton's toughest game left and only remote chance at a slip-up

Oakyville at ORLY 12/8/2008: this game could propel Oakyville to the top seed or guarantee ORLY the 2 seed.

Definitely a good read. Its gonna be a crazy finish this season. Especially come playoffs.

Compton takes cares of business and we are #1... we control our own destiny. Hell yes.

I'll put out my rankings just for fun based on how I think the best teams fall.

1- Carolina Bar Stars- Coming in at one of the three teams at 9-1, I see the the Bar Stars at the top. After taking down the Nungas last night, I think the Bar Stars have the best shot at taking the title right now. They are led by probably the best Quarterback in the league and have a solid defense. Even though we (Compton) did beat them, I think they didn't show us their best game. We also had 3 non-offensive touchdowns. I give them the edge right now.

2- Compton Colt .45s- I have to give some love to my boys. I think that we still haven't reached our pinnacle and could conceivably win the title this season out of the West. We've got a really balanced offense and have the two best Defensive Ends in the conference. Our one loss to Oakyville was a tough one, but I think we probably split if we play 10 games. 21 points in the 4th quarter won't happen again.

3- Oakyville Nungas- These guys are good, there is no doubt about that. Led by Nikka Barna, the sack master and Artist Monkster, the best Receiver in the league, this team is as dynamic as they come. Even though they have 2 losses this team is pretty legit. They gave us our only loss so they've got my respect.

4- ORLY OWLS- When ORLY is in consideration for the number 4 team in a conference, I would say that it's a pretty legit conference. They have probably the best Running Back in the conference and they have the number 1 defense. This team has just as good of a chance at not only winning the division, but the league as well as anybody out there.

Good write up sounds about right to me. I can easily see any of those teams winning it all this season.

Yeah, but it looks like Compton is going to have home field wrapped up throughout the playoffs as long as they don't stumble. The bar stars currently have an inside track on the #2 seed, and a win agaisnt ORLY would basically wrap that up for them. ORLy still has a legitimate shot at the two seed if they can beat the Bar Stars and Nungas. The loss hurt Oakyville's shot a a top two seed pretty bad. I think whether they end up at three or four, they will be dangerous to whoever they play in the second round.

Who the hell is this catcher guy putting Carolina ahead of Compton? He obviously knows nothing about football.

That would be like Texas beating Oklahoma and yet still putting Oklahoma ahead of him. Could never happen.

LOL, It's like always voting for the other guy.

Honestly, Compton has earned their spot at the top. I now catcher probably wants to sneak in under the radar, but they ar ether #1 team in the west right now in a lot of people's books, including mine.

I vote Compton. Hell I may go home and change into drag just to sneak back in and vote for them twice.

Has anyone besides me noticed that Wyoming is coming on strong of late? They look to be fielding a pretty good team right now. I didn't expect us to be tested until I just looked at their roster. Hold your breath boys, "#1" might be going down.

i get the feeling catcher likes the NYG approach to playing as the underdogs even when your still a top ranked team.
