Is there a way to man up the FS against a 2wr set, with the cb to form a double team before the start of a play, but leave a SS back as if he is in a cover 2 position, guarding against the deep threat/middle?

Isn't that what's going on in this play? The SS stays back and up. It almost looks like a cover 3, cept the FS should be in that spot, and the SS wouldn't be manned up on that wr.

There's that play...but the FS is guarding the wrong WR. Among other things...

That's why it threw me. I can't find anything that mans him up on that WR. Bug maybe?

Maybe the FS just defaults to the top threat WR?

It is definitely this play...

The "man" lines on the image are not correct, and they just randomly man up on someone.

Nah DB, it's not that preset.

First off, there's a strong side LB shift going on. Not it.

Plus the MLB is blitzing from the outset instead of dropping back into that middle zone shown in that preset's pic.

Plus ROLB goes back into coverage, not manning up on HB.

Definitely not that preset.

It looks like it could be:

43 / Cover 0 / Man / Medium Distance / Balanced Play Focus / Strong Shift / MLB Blitz

On Cover 0 like that, when the TE doesn't run a route, but rather stays in to run block, the SS drops back toward the middle like that.

Madlister is right. The SS is actually going to cover WR#1 before realizing it's a run play.

What's really retarded about the AI - the SS insta-recognizes the TE/HB/FB are not running routes, and instead of playing the run - goes to cover a WR.

Retarded.

Yes I hate the way this year the SS goes to cover the WR.
This even happens when you put the SS in Run Focus.

Seems like a good play to run if they favor that particular WR a lot in a 2 wr formation.
