Predictions return!
Buffalo Chips vs. Rum Runners
The Chips' running game has been virtually unstoppable this year, and the Runners' chances of containing it look pretty slim. Even if they devote heavy resources to the run, the Chips' QB and WRs have been waiting to bust out all season. The Chips will come out this week as one of the two remaining 8-0 teams in the East.
Chips 107 - Runners 0
New Jersey Mobsters vs. Sheffield Sabres
The Mobsters continue their push toward the playoffs against the lovable, but heavily CPU, Sabres. The Mobsters' high-flying offense, helmed by Josh "BG" Harris, will be too much. Mobsters move to 5-3 and closer to the "second season." Hopefully, the Mobsters will bring out-of-town support--the Sabres' finances are hurting.
Mobsters 73 - Sabres 7
**GAME OF THE WEEK**
Saint Paul Vulcans vs. Q Dawgs
Arguably the game of the season, the two teams viewed by many to be the best in the conference square off for the inside-track on the top playoff seed. The only week spot exhibited by the Dawgs is their O-Line, and therein lies the key to this game. If the Vulcans' DEs have eaten their Wheaties, the Vulcans might pull this off. The Vulcans have an incredibly deep roster, but their are a lot of inactives who might not be there to see the game-plan, and the Vulcans should outscore the Q Dawgs in the 4th quarter--those first three quarters? I think the Q Dawgs have the slight edge.
Q Dawgs 31 - Vulcans 30.
Atlanta SEC All-Stars vs. NJ Hitmen
Each team is only a few players away from being top-class. The All-Stars have great depth at almost every position, and on paper, they should dominate the Hitmen at the line. The problem is, their chemistry has really taken a hit, and the difference will play a role. This is a tough one to call, but I think the All-Stars' d-line, especially Michael Larson, will be too much for the Hitmen.
All-Stars 42 - Hitmen 30
Texas Wrecking Crew vs. 151 Malibu Rum
If things go as they are supposed to, the Crew shouldn't have a problem here. But after their sandbagging last week, who knows? I still think they win this one handily, but watch out for towel-boys and cheerleaders on the kick-return team.
Crew 110 - Rum 0
New Orleans Night Trippers vs. Southern Comfort
Southern Comfort gets a brief respite in their tough schedule against the financially-troubled and CPU-filled Night Trippers. They shouldn't have much trouble here before they have to gear-up against the Q Dawgs, Vulcans, and Chips in their next three games. Enjoy it.
Southern Comfort 45 - Night Trippers 14
Philadelphia Pigeons vs. Seward City Cats
This time last year, I never thought I'd see the Cats with a winning record. I'm happy to see that isn't the case. Unfortunately, the Pigeons are fighting for a home playoff game, and I think they'll be gunning for style-points today. The Pigeons will be too much for the Cats here.
Pigeons 77 - Cats 14
FC Hezbollah vs. Kansas City Mad Cows
This is a battle of the wait-til-next-year teams, and it's a tough one to call. The Cows have a big advantage in depth, but Hezbollah has top-notch Backs and a pretty-big chemistry lead. I think that will be just enough to get them past the Cows.
Hezbollah 33 - Cows 24
