Hello I am making a Scrambling QB. I have some interesting questions.

Here is link: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1086563

Basic Plan:

I will start off by capping Vision and Throwing. Then I will get Stamina to 35, Strength to a good number and Confidence to a good number.

Then I will cap Agility and Speed while getting carrying to a good number.

From there I will go into more advanced caps, ETC. ETC.

The Questions:

1. What do you think I should change about my basic plan?

2. What should my running style be? Power, Elusive or Combo?

3. What should my scrambling frequency be?

4. What should my passing style be?

5. Should I favor long passes?

6. What should my play intensity be?

7. What should my HB/FB Dump Pass be?

8. When should I get SA's and which ones should I get in what quantity?

STR: 50
SPD: 60 + Equip = 70
AGL: 60
THROWING: 60 + Equip 70-80
STAM: 40
CARRY: 40
VISION: 50
CONFIDENCE: 40

Get to this, get dump pass, on the run, and quick cut a couple of points.

Set to scramble often.
Evasive running style.
Medium pass
No favor long
Play Hard
Dump off none

Do this by level 30-40

60 Throwing for a rushing QB is kind of high, don't you think?

Just my $0.02, but I'd put equipment into agility, not speed. You're not going to be outruning the defense, so speed doesn't have to be that high. Agility will help with acceleration - and it also helps on the passing side, moving around the pocket, etc.

Depends, if all you want to do is rush then screw throwing, if you wanna be a QUARTERBACK that can run then i guess your throwing is gotta be at a decent level.

IMO, pump speed and throwing early on. At early levels, 45 speed and 30 throwing is a pretty strong combo. Then, work on strength/vision (dep on long/short focus) and confidence.

I'm on teams with a few scrambling QBs and we've found there's little difference between 25 and 45 throwing, but there's a huge difference in 25 and 45 speed. You really want to start as a runner and then build your throwing. Early on, most WRs will be fairly open if your offense is setup properly and you can be real effective at the outside run with a high speed in early levels.

My QB has mid 30 speed and agility and breaks off for 5-10 yard runs when he doesn't see anyone open. Mostly in the 5 WR set where everyone on the field is occupied and if he sees no one open he can pick up about 10 yards running through the middle of the field. There is one in the game I just played against Long Island Ice Tea where he broke off a 12 yard run.

I'm currently building a rushing qb just for fun. So far he has soft capped speed and throwing. Although his agility is only at 24 he still has made a few decent runs.

I wonder why any time you see a scramble advise thread you see someone comes in and advises on 70+ throwing??

I don't bother with the Pocket threads because.... i don't have one LOL

Focus on either Agility or Speed for your above and beyond the soft cap.

other then that I'd suggest lots of patients and dont be afraid to be a backup for a few seasons.

build him how you feel you want him to be strong and not so much a protype of another 30 QB's

good luck to ya, Cheers
