Which one would you prefer for your LB?

How often does said LB blitz?
Mine is currently a utility backup, so I'd go closing speed, since its more useful in my jack of all trades role. Blitz would be good if I were a regular blitz, but if I was balanced/mostly coverage, closing speed would be the winner.

Good point. Closing speed will work on all plays where as blitz would only work for some plays.

I got a piece of equipment with the closing speed SA attached.
On the surface it looks really good, but are we really sure it works?
In the description it says:
"...The CB will gain a speed and acceleration boost when the ball carrier is far away and he needs to close the gap quickly"
So are we sure it works on linebackers since there si referred to a CB in the text?

Best SA's you could find are First Step and Change Direction. In my opinion at least. I love closing speed on my safety though so I'd imagine it would be nice for a LB as well.

does the QB going back to pass count as a ball carrier? thus allowing closing speed to engage? that is another important question

Someone said that it does not matter what the description says. It will apply to your player no matter what.

Closing speed will work for linebackers, and no the quarterback doesn't count as a ball carrier for all intents and purposes for closing speed to work on him, unless he runs past the line of scrimmage of course.

Bort has stated that the ball carrier means any player holding the ball, which means the QB is the ball carrier if he has the ball.

I would most definitely go with closing speed. Maybe that boost to speed and acceleration would help jar a fumble loose?

when did he state this. the last time bort adressed this issue he said a quater back doesn't count as a ball carrier. that was about a week ago.

Oh ok, I guess Im wrong. Fuck, I should have kept the Blitz SA instead of closing speed.
