Lol, you're behind on this argument already. He also still has all the trophies so some reason

Wouldn't you prefer this team have the name than some random team picking it up?

Well, at least the team is filled with players as oppose to CPU fillers.

Let's face it though, the history and the name probably helped a lot with the recruiting.

Bort should retire the names of some of the "famed" teams if the owner leaves and doesn't pass it on to a current GM.

Or I think that what should happen is that if a team ever goes CPU, the team should get a randomly generated computer name. And yes, the trophies should vanish too.

Which is my only problem with it. It puts the rest of the team at an unearned recruiting disadvantage. But it's done and that owner doesn't have any pride in what he can do all by himself, so we in USA BBB #13 will just have to trash the former good name of the Galaxy Aces on the field by kicking thier asses every week, as best we can.

Since everyone has nothing better to do than WHINE about the name of my team, here's a little news flash for thicker skulled crowd.

- The name isn't changing and I have no plans to entertain the idea. Get over it.
- I didn't ask for the trophies to stay and don't care about them.
- Neither the trophies nor the name have helped with recruiting at all. Think what you want but there is no advantage to recruiting when you start out with a cpu team.

We are struggling with rebuilding the team. If we win or loose, it's still a rebuilding season for us and whatever happens is what happens. As for the rest of the season, we'll just have to see what the future brings.

However, I do find your trivial whining about something you have no say in or any ability is control quite amusing. Keep the thread going, I'm getting lots of laughs out of it. You shouldn't be surprised if I don't chime back in but feel free to keep humoring me.

I think most of the league has already accepted this with a few exceptions. I'm curious to know though, and be honest, what name did you plan on when you received a team? Was it the Galaxy Aces?

I'd beg to differ. I'm not going to take anything away from your recruiting success and I don't think the past legacy/name/trophies contribute heavily into the success.

But let's face it, to say it has ZERO affect on recruiting would be blantly false.

When a player decides to click on your team to find out more information about it, some players aren't as informed in GLB and don't know about the previous Aces. Then they go like, wow this guy really has the past record to show his performance, I definitely want to sign with him.

Again, I'm not going to whine if we lose to you guys this season or in the future and I'm glad at least the team is coming together rather nicely than just a gutted team in the league. But let's at least be honest here and not say "Well, the name is trivial and adds NOTHING".

Hey numa numa, chill out with the "trivial whining = quite amuzing" stuff. C'mon dude I hope you're not that into d&d with talk like that. It's not about competitive advantage. It's because you sniped another team's name and are being really gay about it. It's that simple.

I would have to strongly agree on this point. They even had a posting looking for a GM where they brought up the fact that the team used to be the "famed" Galaxy Aces, of course it has been edited, but this was used to their advantage.
