I have a DT that I am trying to get sacks with this year. His STR is 66, SPD 50, AGI 76. What has experience shown is the best way to get to the QB, combo strength or evasive?

IMO you should set it to evasive,I think your player is weaker than the LG's,but you can beat them with your agility.Shed block also important.

Bull rushing won't get you anywhere, and it doesn't matter in running plays so might as well help those around you by confusing the blockers.

Yeah, strength rush is dead. Strength is a dying attribute, it's only purpose now seems to be the "don't get pancaked" stat.

That's still somewhat valuable, though. Unless you like not helping at all in the run game?

1st capped str is just as effective as 90 str it seems in the running game.
Anyways, if you take up a blocker you've done your job.

I am here to speak for those who have and enjoy high strength.
I do not find it worthless. Last season my team allowed negative rushing yards on the season and went 16-0 (20-0, actually).
You can't judge much from our record this year (we have played 2 cupcake teams) but I have strength all across my D-line and it is a significant part of our defensive dominance.
A high strength build works a little differently, but it has not proven ineffective...quite the opposite.
There is more than one path to effective players. Strength is out of vogue right now, but it is not ineffective.

I hear what you are saying, but it is a gross exaggeration...to the extent that it is untrue.
Agility is a fine skill. But it is not the only skill, nor does it live in a vacuum.

I like to call Tito a dedicated pass rusher, but he does have softcapped strength. Thing is, he does better against running plays than others that play the position with 70+ strength.

I like 70+ STR at DE and a hell of a lot more than that at DT and NT. It works for me, that's all I am saying.
There remains more than one way to win at this game. I actually do think it is easier to shutdown the one-trick pony rushers than it is to shut down a really solid balanced build...but it is hard to put that to the test. Maybe I will try it in some scrimmages this season...

Yeah, str isn't even the only factor in not getting pancaked, str and agi are for that. Strength's main importance seems to be that you need it to get off blocks in the run game.
