Well, I like to do this for every week to get some trash talking started, make the forums a little more lively.
Since I'm new in this league, I'm still not very familiar with the skill levels of teams, so my score predictions might be off. Take them with a grain of salt plz.
So here are my Games of the Week:
Alpha
Vilnius Maulers vs Minsk Ninjas – After the Mauler’s “bye” week, they look to make statement against the Ninjas, who are deemed to be one of the stronger teams in the Alpha league this season.
Prediction: Ninjas 35 – Maulers 24
St. Petersburg Piranhas vs Misctanbul Crusaders – IMO the #1 and 2 teams in the Alpha conference this season. This game will set the tone for the rest of the season in this conference. I definitely will be watching.
Prediction: Crusaders 30 – Piranhas 28
Kazan Golden Horde vs Lowell Bengal Tigers – Two strong playoff contenders try to bounce back from a beating against the Zeta conference. They both would hate to fall to 0-2.
Prediction: Horde 21 – Tigers 13
Zeta
GLB Gods vs Stalingrad Gryphon Army – Even though I don’t think this will be close, the GLB Gods called the Army out, so I gotta put it as a GoTW. The Army’s offensive firepower might be too much for the Gods (or anyone in the league).
Prediction: Army 45 – Gods 24
EEORG Defectors vs Dubai Lightning – Both teams coming off a very strong showing in the first week. I’m sure both will be contenders at the end of the season, but this game will hold a lot of leverage in the playoff seeding, I can tell. This will be a damn close game.
Prediction: Defectors 24 – Lightning 23
Vaadwaur Phoenix vs Prague Punishers – Two impressive looking teams, this is going to be a fun matchup. On levels alone, you have to go with the Punishers, but Phoenix has looked impressed all through preseason and in the first game.
Prediction: Punishers 31 – Phoenix 17
