I'm relatively new to the punting club so please forgive me if this has been covered, but I didn't see anything on the first 3 pages of this forum.

I'm nearing my first goal of getting punting to 4:1, and I hear different people say what is next in importance like strength, vision and confidence, and less frequently I hear talk of jumping. One of the intense training combos is leg press (+strength, +jumping) so I would think that with a kicker or punter strength doesn't really do shit unless jumping is right there with it. Thoughts?

Confidence should be next on your list followed by str/vis. I seriously doubt you need jumping to keep up with str. I seem to recall someone doing a jumping punter build at some point; I wonder if they're still around here...

So you guys don't think higher jumping could mean higher leg strength?

i have no idea anymore. i think the reason why i have that many was because someone said that it helped somehow. so i just trained my way there. i cant tell the difference

Well, with a 41.8 yds/punt average last season and all of the coffin corner kicks you pull off and as many times as you pin the opposition inside their own 20 I'd say you did something right.

I'm thinking that strength is good for a punter, but that it includes upper body as well as lower body strength, while jumping might specifically increase leg strength. That would seem to make sense anyway.

Puma, you look like you have a good build too. You get a lot of pins inside the 20 too? I noticed you don't have much in SA's yet. I was thinking of waiting a while before putting points in those too.

This guy has the opposite SA build as Mr Fresh (not to mention better average and scounting bar), and has jumping at 14.97. I don't know what Fresh's is, but based on the above posts, I'd guess it's far more than that.

Your punter's build is open by the way. Helps me, but I don't know if you were aware of this.

Wow, that's pretty good too. 60+ vision and strength and 90+ confidence. Pretty insane contract too for a punter.

My punter will eventually soft-cap jumping. Everything else will be so high by then, that it'll be hard to tell if it really matters.

Yeah, thanks for pointing it out. I keep it open for others to view what I'm doing. Not really much to hide with a punter.
