Just want to get a feel for what everyone else does...

I know that most teams have their D-Line set to 'Run Focus', so do you all usually have your O-Line set their blocking to 'Run Focus' in order to counter that?

If your team is going to pass more > pass block or run block if you are going to run more than pass.

Perhaps I was unclear.

We have a very versatile offense and we like to keep it balanced with every type of play. We don't like to concentrate on either running or passing...we are a nightmare to plan against.

This question is geared toward any managers out there who have a very balanced attack:

Since we have such balance, common sense would tell me to keep the blocking on 'Balanced'. However...I know that most DC's tell their D-Linemen to concentrate on the run game and that gives them a bonus in reading run plays - and therefore a slight advantage over our O-Line when it comes to run blocking. So, to keep them from gaining that slight advantage, would you tell your O-Line to focus on run blocking?

I'm not really sure how much of an advantage/disadvantage you gain from a particular focus.

How do you figure a bonus to reading the play type equates to an advantage over the O-line?

If you have two lines that are similar in talent and the D-Line has a bonus to reading run plays, does that not give them a slight advantage against the run game? I don't know...I guess that's what I'm hitting at. As I said before: "I'm not really sure how much of an advantage/disadvantage you gain from a particular focus."

My experience last year was that it's pretty significant.

This was in a capped league, however. YMMV.

If you're losing out on the run plays, you'll surely beat them with a pass play.
Your offense is balanced remember?

Also, don't forget that focusing on one play takes away from the other.
