Was wondering what happens if say I have 4 CBs listed the depth chart and the offense comes with 5 WRs..Does the AI just pick the best available person to fill the 5th CB?

Same goes for having 4 WRs and running 5 wide?

I've asked the same question before, and was told that the AI does just pick the best of the rest for the 5th spot. Sometimes that's okay, but you'd be better off putting the guy you wanted to come on in the Depth Chart.

I've seen LB's, SS's and FS's cover the last WR.

Is it possible to leave WRs in the default Depth chart column while adding a TE to WR5? Would that work? I'm trying to get the 5th spot covered but I'd rather get the WRs their playing time without it being taken away by the TE being in the rotation.

Same goes for the 5th CB spot.

The game uses the CB fields as a default. If there is something in the CB1/CB2,etc fields, it will use that. Its an either/or proposition.

Same for WR.

Put a TE in the 5th WR slot because in a 5WR set the TE isn't on the field. He wont take any playing time from the WR's because he'll only come on in a 5WR set.
