Will this build be effective as a LDE? What works there/what doesn't? Any advice on where to go with an early boost?

Strength: 53.26 Blocking: 16.45
Speed: 70 Tackling: 40.9
Agility: 66.2 Throwing: 8
Jumping: 27.93 Catching: 12
Stamina: 38.9 Carrying: 10
Vision: 39.3 Kicking: 10
Confidence: 25.82 Punting: 8

Containment Tree

2-2-2-2-2

Pass Rusher Tree

6-5-5-4-3

Equipment is set to +13 Speed; +8 Agility; +3 Strength. He also has an unequipped piece for +4 STR where a +5 SPD piece is currently equipped. Any advice and thoughts appreciated, thanks for the time.

get ready for a boring season. i would drop all the speed equipment unless someone can vouch for high speed getting you through the LDE double team. i'd try moving it all to strength or agility but i cant say which.

one of my DEs was moved to LDE all last season and was pretty ineffective (as expected with his build). he has a similar build to yours but no containment SAs, 7-5-8-11 in pass rush SAs, and more agility. i was switching between full sets of speed and agility to either have 80 speed or 89 agility depending on the set and evasive tactics. he almost never got to take advantage of the speed because he was usually just dicked in the face with a double team. or just pushed out of the way with his mid 50 strength

honestly after my experience, if i were making a d line, i'd replace the LDE with a DT focused entirely on containment and just let the RDE and LBs handle the pass rushing.

My DE was moved from RDE to LDE and his stats went up dramatically. When I was switched I had also switched to a speed rusher, all equipment in speed and mid 50s str. I will admit that the lower str doesn't do well against the double teams but was able to average about 2 sacks a game, 6 in two playoff games. I have my tactics set to combo, tried evasive and didn't do anything, must be a function of my build. Not only does the speed help on sacks but helps running down outside passes and sweeps. If I was you (and I was) I'd switch to all speed which would put it at 81 and then get up to the second cap.

Good luck and let us know what you do.

Speed DEs can be just as effective at LDE as RDE, at least up until this season.

Don't know about this season until we play it.

With the ability to move the TE to the left side on pass plays, pass rush DEs on the left side may have a very good season. A lot of ROT are built to run block.

I have a DE that has played left side for 2 seasons. Cranked up the agi (80+)at the expense of speed, 60+ str and led the D-line in tackles, had 30 sacks and 37 hurries.

edit: I capped vision also.

I would build the same for either side of the line. Being a pass rush specialist doesn't hurt that much against strong running teams.

I'd like to see you build a good pass rushing D-lineman in the first place.

Small dick complex manifests itself in so many ways... some people drive big trucks, some people always rock huge boots, some people have to post smartass non-constructive comments in online threads. Get a girlfriend or something, loser. Being a retarded idiot should get a ban or something. Guess that's why I never take my gun with me in traffic.

OK, had to get that out of my system.

Thanks to everyone else who helped with constuctive comments. I think I'm gonna go for the best of both worlds, 2nd capping SPD and AGI with my boost and adjusting equipment to get both to 75; soft capping VIS and add STR with the next level or 2 after that.

That's a valid point about the TE switching around this year. Think I'll wait a couple games to see how the season starts to shake out, and whether or not the rumored 'nerf' has any effect.

LDE is fine. My 30+ DE has played LDE almost exclusively for the last 3-4 seasons and I wouldn't play anywhere I couldn't play LDE. Not a "true" speed rusher (read: I have put SPs into strength) but heavily focused in that direction. I'd also say he does as well or better against the run then he does against the pass, double team or not.

In summary: LDE > RDE. Don't change equipment unless it's to pump agility. I <3 agility.

I'd like to see you play in a halfway decent league first.

In any case, I would still build a DE the same for either side of the line. Hell, a lot of times I see my DEs outrun the CBs to make tackles on passes.

I am playing in a halfway decent league now. Team moved to AAA. Not my fault teams are crappy in AA. Just took advantage of my situation. You'd do the same.

Hey Leatherhelm, you should maybe not be a little kid and send me a bad note then hide in the corner. Insulting me in a PM and then blocking them from me? That's childish, come on. Oh and you should really stop contradicting yourself in your "Small dick" comment. Or are you too young to understand what that means? There is a dictionary. Google it I'm sure you know how.

And to DLight03, I didn't know he retired his and he may have been good.

To AntiNinja, Could you explain to me why you would retire a good D-lineman? Makes no sense. Tom Brady didn't retire when he was 23.
