Welcome all the new Teams,
Here is the earliest ever expectations list, kind of a pre, pre season ranking.

I have done alpha, and if no one from Zeta gets round to it, I'll do a short one for them.

Obviously there will be a lot of changes happening to team rosters, with so many players wanting to stay in WEPL, so a lot can change.

This is purely off last season performances.

Elite Tier: Expecting Championship

Paris Philharmonic (Champions) : After a slow start, and looking very susceptable on defense, Paris are now the reigning champions, and a lot of that success is down to one man, RDE Omnipotent Nihility, who exploded onto the scene in WEPL about mid season, and stopped any teams being able to pass reliably against them. Before then Paris looked solid, but unspectacular.
But now with a shut down pass rush threat and a solid supporting cast on defense, Paris dont give up big points often.
Thjeir offense is not over powering, but is able to constantly wear down a defense, or strike quickly, and that makes them dangerous. Combined with a solid defense, they have what it takes to repeat, but they have lost some of the surprise factor.

Woodridge Lumberjacks : Newly promoted team look to have a strong squad

I am sure that many WEPL owners had a guilty smile on their faces when they saw WuJax missing from the league line up. but thankfully THE name in WEPL has returned.
Not that WuJax seemed to be as dominant last season, but Wujax is the first name associated by outsiders to the WEPL and the deserve it for their multiple championships.
Will be expected to storm back to full power this season after a shockingly poor season 5 campaign by their own standard.

Tier 2 : Expecting top 4 finish

Wembley Warriors : One of the best squads in WEPL, high levels, lots of depth, players on offense who can turn a game on its head.
But consistently underperform. I continue to expect them to have a break out season.

Berlin Blitzkrieg : Powerful team on their day, but can suffer from unexpected defeats, not very far away from the top spot in most seasons and you have to expect them to be there or there abouts next season.
Look good even when they lose.

E-City Mercenaries : The team that have punched above their weight for so long, that people take it for granted.
Mercs gameplans are the best in the league, and anyone who underestimates them usually ends up on the wrong end of a upset. I believe Mercs will strengthen this season and push it to the next level.

London Monarchs : Finished as No1 Seed in Alpha last season, and lost a close game to eventual Champions Paris.
Have no stand out players in WEPL, but a good squad size, and flexible tactics keep them in most games.

Tier 3 : Expecting Play off spot

Fightin' Texas Aggies : The biggest underperformer last season. FTA have fixed what was a obvious flaw in their tactics, and improved greatly towards the end of the season. Still possess players capable of making them a elite team, but have they got the tactical ability to fullfill the promise.

Toledo Swords : Yet another team who promise much but struggled with consistency. Have the potential to beat anyone, but not seen as the biggest threat in the league, will expect to finish in the play offs with a renewed passing attack.

London Minotaurs : From what I have seen, probably the only AAA team promoted to Alpha that is ready to compete already, and will probably improve their team in off season. Look like the best chance of making an impact.

Aberdeen Wrecking Crew : If Jimmy Johnson could play on Offense they might just win the Championship...
AWC should be higher than they are now, but big problems with inactives and squad depth. If they fix that could be an outside shot at top 4 teams.

Chicago Rocks : Solid team tactically, and have decent levels and leadership, just never showed consistency last season. Did show signs of ability to beat the best teams, need to find that form again, or might struggle.

tier 4 : Possibly sneaking a play off spot

Lake Charles Who Dats : Struggled to end the season, decent squad but a big challenge ahead.

Stuttgart Nighthawks : Consistently struggled in WEPL, but never an easy victory, and more than capable to beat anyone, need to get the offense and defense working on the same day.

Carthage Army Of Darkness : Had a massive upturn in performances to end the season, and did not struggle the previous season either. Will be looking to start the season stronger this time round.

Dinas Mawddwy Red Bandits : A solid team all round, certainly deserved to be promoted, but the level of competition was not as high as previous seasons.
Can they step it up in WEPL, I think they will.

Black Watch : Another team who need to step up and prove them selves. have got the squad to do it, and it will be their tactics that decide their final position.

Relegation Favs

err.... Alpha is going to be tough this season...

Whew, grammatical errors in the thread title... Normally not one to be the grammar police, but that is borderline incomprehensible.

What I THINK you are saying is, "Season 6 Preview: Mildly elitist thread designed to inspire the newly promoted teams to prove us all wrong"

'that thay are' made the title too long so I subbed in 'their' instead.....

Wanted the quote to be one line, and the season 6 preview on a seperate one, in the WEPL forum.

Wow, Mike. Just wow. All these mistakes are unlike you.

P.S. Toledo's looking at a tough season for reasons that might become public in a few days. I hope not though.

thay=they

their=they're

insipre=inspire

seperate=separate

and lets just go ahead and throw the whole thread title out the window and just call it "Season 6 Preview"

good writeup, I am just hoping there is a zeta version of you. In every league the Ballers have been in there's always been an awesome guy on the alpha side to do writeups every game, and then zeta would never have anyone.

This is me not volunteering to be that person for zeta however

I'm the Zeta version of Mike Rogers, only I don't post write-ups

Fat Daddy Cash did the best write-ups a couple seasons ago. He recently stopped but I hope he can pick it up again.

T-Noles posts the best write-ups out of anyone. "Pimps. Discuss"

I remember Fat Daddy Cash doing previews in AAA#1 3 seasons ago, too, he was awesome at it, hope he starts again too.

Looking at the rosters I think AWC better get cracking, they are riddled with expiring contracts and longer time inactives. Unless they have a load of agreements in place already there is much work to be done yet.

Stupid post. Who cares about Alpha? Everyone knows Zeta kicks Alpha's butt.

Hi, by the way. Nice being here. The UK Patriots go Pro. I'm looking forward to this!

Having finished my browsing of the rosters I must say that I feel in a very unusual position this season, we'll see if I can handle it

As to what that position is, well, all will be revealed once the season starts, but maybe someone catches on before then.

Nope, no drinking in hospital

Heavy meds are just as bad though.

Pft, would have split the uprights if it wasn't for a dodgy hold.
