Evening gents

Just checking in to our new forum and doing a little introduction to who we are, our back story and what we aim to achieve.

So, the UK patriots... we were formed way back in Season 1 after our previous owner, Highflies, bought us into Western Europe AAA #2 Zeta about three quarters the way through the season, we basically wiped out the roster and started again from scratch. This set us back a little over the already established teams but we grinded out a few results.

Now our agent base is completely taken from the UK Patriots fanclub which we are all members of, as the name suggests we are a UK based fanclub for the New England Patriots... quite a famous one too and proud to be the 1st ever fanclub to be officially affiliated with the New England Patriots organisation. So thats the story behind our team name, jerseys and stadium name! Even a few of our player names (I especially love Logan Manthing and Mick Verbal!) are based on the team! We're quite sad really!

Anyway we've had five seasons of constant improvement, gradually coming closer together as a team with regards to player builds, we lost a few agents and gained a few, then lost a few more, and at the start of season 5 we almost folded. Thats when I made the move from Head Coach to Owner and after a poor start to the season, we had a fantastic mid-to-late season charge, going deep into the playoffs and only losing to our long term nemesis Antwerp in the championship game!

We know that by way of a technicality that we are now in this amazing place we targetted to be so many seasons ago! The pro league! It feels a little hollow being promoted via a technicality and not by winning through, but its promotion non the less and our late season record stands as proof we can compete.

You'll find that me and my agents are one of the most humble teams you'll find. We stick to the ethos of the team we support in a lot of respects, we rarely smack talk and I, at least, always try to treat my fellow owners and GM's with respect. I run this team alone, I have no offensive or defensive co-ordinators, and only this offseason have I appointed someone as a right hand man to handle recruitment... as my vice president of player personnel ala Scott Pioli! Lol! I handle basically all the gameplanning, scouting, financial stuff, contracts etc, however I take nothing away from the team I have under me, I have a number of outstanding agents who chip in with advice and opinions all the time, for the better.

Our goal now in the pro league is obviously survival, a mid-table finish would do nice, as would more money to finance our stadium improvements.

We are a team that cannot be underestimated, as several of our opponents last season found out to their loss and we will be loving our time in the pro leagues, new teams to gameplan against, new owners and GM's to pit my wits against, some old foes to clash with once more and of course more chances for glory!

Cheers all!

Jamie, and the UK Patriots, signing in.

no reason to feel you do not deserve here...I think it is more there were teams here that didn't respect the fact that they were here and have been demoted/gutted....thus opening up an opportunity for you to make it.

Hope to get a scrimmage or friendly with you guys...

I'll just echo what Jamie said. I'm Pioli for this season, by the way, so if any free agents are reading this, HELLO!

Good to be here. We've been through some tough times, and the team nearly folded, but boy are we glad we kept going. That was some season we just had. The 11-5 record doesn't really tell the whole story of a season where we went on a rampage. Our QB threw for a league-best 115 TDs and just 5 INTs. We rushed for 32 TDs too. In fairness a lot of those passing TDs did come in blow-out victories against gutted teams, but it's nevertheless an impressive achievement (and the play-by-play was ace to watch at times). Our D came up big too, keeping us close even in the 5 games we lost - our biggest defeat was by 38 points in the season opener, and one of the losses came by just 3 points to Dublin where the opposition scored a TD with 0:12 on the clock.

We went in the playoffs expecting it to be very tough - in order to win the Conference we needed to beat the #3 seeds, then the #2 seeds, then the #1 seeds in that order. We were expecting close games. But we blew out #3 Cardiff in the first round, then won 45-17 against the Dublin side that had beaten us by 3 in that heartbreaker in Week 15, and finally we came up against a very respectable (and infamous) Antwerp Annihilators team, dead set on finally finally finally making it Pro. It was an excellent game, we played good tough football, but came up just short, losing 41-31. Still, that playoff charge was enough to ensure we join the Pro's for the first time.

Jamie's right that we're a humble bunch. I think we're all aware of how tough this coming season will be. We're a poor side relative to the big boys of Zeta Pro. We don't have enough depth yet on our roster and with the finances in such a difficult state, it may be hard to attract the right guys. But I think that we're a well run team, and I'm confident we can do respectably this season. We're all looking forward to it.

those numbers put up by your QB are pretty ridiculous. even if your league was half full of cupcake teams, it would still be impressive. certainly beats the crap out of any season Corey Smith has had so far.

Jamie, glad to see you and your team here with us. You guys deserve a shot against the best in GLB. Your team like ours, I think respects the fact that we are in the TOP division and want to be the best and to do that we have to face that week after week after week.

Congrats and look forward to our first game against you in WEPL!

I disagree.....almost 2000 yards and 73 touchdowns came from 3 cupcake games (if you count the blackbirds game, then thats 2500+ yds and 87 touchdowns in 4 cupcake games).

Not that impressive at all.....respectable, sure, but not "ridiculous". Also, I'd argue that Corey's season 2 (if not others) was more impressive.

We had some gutted teams in season two as well, if you recall.

Even without the gutted teams, their QB put up 42 TDs to only 5 INTs which is still impressive no matter how you look at it.
