Yeah, there's been a few of those in Soccer over the years - always make you a bit squeemish.

Worst one I ever saw was a kick boxer. Kicked the other guys foot - shatted the bone, then tried to stand on a flopping rubber mess. Hilarious - but OW!

My leg did something pretty close to that about a month ago. Was playing football and I was also going all out for a touchdown pass. I crossed a brick path that goes around the field we were playing on and my cleat on my right foot got stuck between the bricks and turned my foot outwards sideways. I broke the inside of my ankle and I had a spiraling fracture go up my fibula. I had a 6 inch plate screwed to my fibula with 6 screws, I had 2 screws inserted into my ankle, and I had 2 more screws inserted to hold my ligaments in place because I basically mutilated them. The two screws holding my ligaments in place eventually will have to be surgically removed, hopefully in the next 3-4 weeks, if I ever want to put weight on my right foot ever again.

After all that I should be able to walk by mid December!

i was playing FS in out district championship game and when i dove for the QB our SS came over and did at the same time and the top of his helmet hit the point of my thumb and jammed it into my wrist, it shattered my thumb and factured the top edge of my wrist. I didnt even feel it i dont know how. I only noticed it cause my chinstrap came undone, so when i reached with my right hand to snap it back up i felt like i was moving my thumb to snap it, but my thumb wasnt moving at all, lol! It looked really weird...it looked extremely long, and when you would push on the base of it, all the bones would move back in place and i was able to move it slightly. They just told me it was disloactaed, so we taped it up and i played the entire game. Next day at the doctors, after the xray they said, you must be one tough son of a bitch, i said whys that...and he laughed and said...well your thumb isnt dislocated...its shattered in bout 5 peices, lol. Now i have screws in it..

Thats the same kind of break that ended Tyrone Prothro's career. Compound that got dirt and grass in it and got infected.

Haha....my dad said the same thing when I told him about it.

Imagine how pissed that guy must be...

Actually, there was an article today about him. He already had surgery and everything. He seemed like a pretty gracious and forgiving person.
