Why? That's horrible news. I can understand weak teams giving up but why are teams so close to winning throwing it away.

There will likely be a fair number of teams go belly up and the top two reasons are going to be because the time requirement needed to be successful and run things the way they should be continues to go up.. a lot. With Bort's announcement about new plays and everything else, next season is going to be a lot more work to get everything back up to speed, etc. Not saying it is good or bad (I think it is good personally, but for those that were on the edge time wise, it put them over). The other issue would of course be the money aspect of things. Could be a combo of the two as well, but that is just my opinion on why this is going on.

Something else that is also contributing is the free agent market issues. It is very difficult to get players that don't demand the kitchen sink and are willing to fit into a "team" concept when it comes to play time, etc. A lot of agents want to be on winners and in higher leagues. They have no interest in rebuilding teams and/or lower leagues. I think the teams that have an easier time of this are "friends" teams where people know each other and are willing to work towards the good of the team. For those that are recruiting the hard way, a tip of the cap to you for going through it, but you know how tough it is to get the type of players I am talking about.

the best part about this game is meeting people and forming friendships. I couldnt run the Warriors without my GM's, and in turn i help them with their teams. "Time" is the #1 issue i think, and some people are selling back their first teams, to get on the wait list for a new team. It is much easier to build a winner on a capped team, especially if you have already been playing for a while. That means that they(Snails) wont be going up....damn.

No it means they will be going down. All CPU teams have the contracts changed to run out day 40 and are relegated to the bottom!

Really is a pity! Having been a part of 2 gutted rebuilds I can echo what Shizzle says but sometimes I wish I was able to get a new team and a gutted team. They are different types of challenges and part of the fun. You need to have some connections to do it IMO though.

As far as getting the right type of players Klydon...I know what you mean...and managed to get lucky with my new team I got in season 5. But once again, part of that luck was knowing alot of quality agents from alot of teams I have played on. This helped me build half of the team and the other half I got with being brutally honest. I gave my whole 3 year plan to them in the recruiting PM! They either bit on it or laughed at me...I am laughing my way into the League championship in about 5 hours with a full lower bowl and 2-3 sections in the 200 bowl! Money won't be an issue for our future...I just need to keep quality agents on the team!
