Forum > Position Talk > QB Club > Probably a silly question - Throwing hard vs. lofty which is better?

Hey,

My QB has not been doing as well as I would hope with a completion rate near 50%. I currently have him on medium, and am considering dropping it to lofty.

Has anyone got any idea on how bad lofty is (interception wise) vs. medium, or hard?

i have kept mine in lofty and no probs. i think lofty would be easier to catch but easier to INT.

Your QB Tim Tebow threw for 65% last season?

thats what I was thinking. You can't ask for much better than 65% and changing to lofty or bullet might cause more damage than it helps

I've used bullet passing all season to good effect, we were tied for fewest drops in the league and I had a 66% completion percentage.

Ok, maybe I was just being greedy. Perhaps he isn't doing so bad after all. I thought he was closer to 50%. 65% is respectable.

68.8% - 39 TD's - 5 Ints Mixed it up between Bullet and Medium all season but most was probably spent on Medium. I share time with a 'backup' QB so if I had been playing more downs would likely have had closer to 50 td's and 7-8 Ints with a similar completion percentage.

Set it to bullet in the the conference championship game. Came up with 4 int!!!! More than I had in the whole season when playing on medium.

I'm not going bullet again!!

Oh and during the regular season my Completion % was 70.4%

bullet less likely to be intercepted and gets to the open man quicker

My QBhad a terrible game on the conference finals...
He threw 3 INTs that cost us the game, and it was the first game in the season playing with medium passing. If you watch the replays of the three INTs I believe that if the passes were bullets they would not have been picked.
Can anyone else watch the game to confirm my thoughts?

Another question:
Medium/Lofty will become better options with higher strength builds?

My QB also threw 2 picks in the conference champs, after throwing 3 all year, without changing his throwing velocity. increased picks in playoffs, especially in conference champs and finals, prolly have more to do with level of competition
